It was tasty too.......and so were the three others I consumed whilst I was there......................what a remarkable day. I do so recommend the Holland House Hotel and Bar and Beach Soire in Grand Bay in St Maarten, Phillipsburg when you should/could/maybe/might be there. Faaaaaaaaaaaaaabulous Dahling.

Hi neighbor!! We did love our minisuite. Loved that secret hall and Randy in between us!! We had a great sailing. Tell Jerome we had tallywackers at paradise point. No bushwackers in honor of you!! My little one totally thought you were famous. Every time she'd see you in the hall she's say "there he IS!!!!" Lol. Loving your review. Oh and I was in vibe. Not the best crowd. Some were awesome. Some were entitled know it allis. Yuck. But I love Rommel so that made it worth it.

I can't wait to hear the full details from all of this. I saw the medivac. At first it was a little nerve wracking that we did that about face in tortola.

The medivac took a while, and two ladies were escorted off the ship by several uniformed officers. I found it weird that two people went off as well. But the stabbing explains it.

In St maarten and St Thomas, we saw two very inebriated folks being dragged back to the ship. One of them was the weird person dressed in all black. Same outfit all week, black toque, sunglasses (even at night), leather jacket, etc. I say person, because I could never figure out male or female.

It's really amazing what goes on one ship. Looks like alcohol was a major factor in all the incidents.

And my 14 year old daughter and 12 year old son wondered why they weren't allowed to walk alone after 8pm. I will share these stories with them.

She was a she...ran into her and her travelmate many times over the week at the upper pool bar. They constantly tried to bum cigarettes off people and were always begging people to buy them drinks. Very rude and very strange! Was told by one of the bar waiters that they had been on for nearly 14 days, wearing the same clothes every day. They smelled so bad that people moved away when they showed up.

The strangest person we saw on our Escape cruise in July was a guy dressed in full Elvis Presley regalia (sunglasses, white decorated jumpsuit, pompidor wig) who walked into the Manhattan Room one night when we were having dinner. I thought he was going to sing with the band but he didn't. Maybe he just lost a bet.

We saw that woman everywhere, all week! I didn't understand how she didn't overheat. My husband kept complaining about her "scent." I wonder if they are still on...

We noticed her, too! Sitting, in the outdoor smoking area, on a stinking hot day, wearing a zipped up leather jacket and a wool cap, while we were all over heating in t-shirts and shorts. So weird they were on for 14 days -- I'd love to know the story behind that! How do you have the green for a 14 day Caribbean cruise, but not have a change of clothes or your own cigs.

There were some odd birds on that cruise for sure.

Yes. She and a companion got on the elevator with us on deck 6 once. She was wearing a black leather motorcycle jacket. Terrible body odor. We were going to deck 17 but got off at 14 and walked the last 3 decks. Really bad. I wonder if the drunk at the humidor was the one that wouldn't sit on the boat ride back from Soggy Dollar. Couldn't stand up falling all over the place. Also ran into 2 drunk women fighting and cursing at each other both times we saw them. Maybe the stabber and stabbee ? Was it a full moon all week over Escape ? Still, it was a great cruise, the wonderful time and great folks we met far outweighed the weirdness. Regards, Gerry

Wow what an interesting lot of passengers you had on board with you! Looking forward to tinkling while reading the next installments.

I lived in St Maarten for a few years (I enjoyed vacationing there so much that I left my "corporate America" job in the US and moved down there "for a few months" to figure out what I wanted to do with my life and wound up staying for years). I worked for a couple of years as a server in an upscale restaurant and nightclub in Maho that is no longer there (It was next to Sunset Beach Bar and was called Bliss) and then I worked as a radio personality on a radio station and our talk show was recruited by a radio station in Maryland so, sadly, I had to return to the states for work. I didn't spend much time in town, although the Great Bay beach is lovely (and if a cruiser does not want to spend much money on an excursion then they can simply rent an umbrella and chairs and hang right there by the port on the beach), but as we were trying to avoid traffic and crowds and go about life as usual....we stayed away from Great Bay (unless of course we had to go to town to pay utility bills, since that had to be done in person :(, or update car registration or something). I am kicking myself for not spending time at Holland House now :( We go back for Christmas and New Years every year though so I will check it out on your suggestion this winter!

Thanks for your wonderful narrative and I will be anxiously awaiting your return to post more!

I for one have allot of adventures and believe me not all of them are pleasant these days. One of the reasons of why I come to this thread to see if there are any updates.

I like to laugh and believe me he has provided many of those. I too was enjoying the previous post that ended and that was too bad for all of us but sometimes life gets in the way of what I can only imagine taking allot of time and effort to complete the reviews. So selfishly disappointing but definitely understanding.

I am hoping he comes back to finish because by the sounds of it there could be many amusing stories to read about from the glimpse of the passengers that were on board with him.

I will keep checking often and hope there is more to come but if there isn't sai lavee!

Oh Yee's of Little Faith!

I am very much alive and very much "Life Happens", sometimes unexpectedly, a whole bunch. I came back to several emergencies at my property, with several key staff members having to take time off because of a very catchy severe illness so I jumped in doing the job of three people all at once, including my own. What with the huge end of summer events that are incredible money makers for us in addition to a new Corporate client that is in the International Air Defense Industry, we have been entertaining Heads of State from all over the world, trying to keep the ones that dislike each other (and their staff) away from each other is not easy.

Jerome has been on a grueling flying schedule, internationally, along with hosting several 9/11 events in Florida (United Flight 93 Cee Cee Lyles) as well as in Boston (United Flight 175, Boston Logan International Airport Ceremony) plus in conferences in D.C. and in Orlando.

Unexpectedly Life Happens.

I will say that one important fact on our dual Norwegian Escape sailings is that the first one was the best cruise of our life, on so many levels. The second one, well, given it was the first sailing with new Officers, that will eventually take over the ship come early 2017, the crew was not as sharp, nor in sync with each other, in my opinion, because the expectations could be different and the style of the new Officers had not been coalesced yet.

For some the cruise was wonderful, for us, menz a menz. It was a cruise and we were ecstatic to be on one. The events that happened to us, some not relevant to Norwegian, were so unusual, so crazy, that the passenger mix was the reason. Perhaps it was a cruise that was so undersold and given away on discount sites, that it was just a comical caricature of all walks of life. Unfortunately the ill-mannered out numbered us folks with tact and life's lessons filled with manners and respect.

I have been wrestling with the comparison review because in some ways, the differences were so stark that Jerome and I both wondered if we were on the same ship just weeks prior. What took place on the second sailing was a plethora of weirdness every day, both with passengers, crew missteps, and just outright dangerous behavior of unruly, drunk and disorderly events that boggled our minds.

Jerome and I could have been seriously injured by a crazy drunk lady hurling plates at us, as we ducked right in the nick of time as they crashed against the wall behind us, during a perfectly wonderful final night dinner at Teppanaki. I was mauled by "Jimmy" (Nearly thrown over the central atrium balcony in the casino) on the first night of the cruise as I was trying to protect the virtues of one of our solo traveling young lady Cruise Critic Roll Call members who was very imbibed and was seconds from being sexually assaulted. What saved me from going over the railing is that I told him I was not interested in the young lady because I am gay and then he indicated he would allow me to perform "favors" to him for $500. This allowed the young woman to escape and hurriedly return to her cabin. Pahleese.

This same boy went on to trash the ship every night, by harassing young ladies with his "Posse" in tow, breaking the glass door in the smoking lounge, jumping off the 17th floor ledge into the pool on the 16th floor, doing drugs, and being caught doing a variety of drugs and smoking in his cabin....so Security confined him to quarters and he escaped by climbing to another cabin via the balcony and exited unnoticed. Nightmare.

There is more, not so funny, and believe me, I have tried to compose something uniquely funny and hilarious about these crazies, but I end up tossing it. These folks were outright Looneytoons.

There is lots more. However, for those naysayers who may think that it is relatively easy to sit and compose a story, albeit, for free I might add, I do this because it is fun, not an obligation. It takes hours to compose a single chapter. I am thankful for the following, I always have been. But I still have other responsibilities to attend to, which pay the rent. So please give me a little leeway.

I am processing several changes to already composed chapters and will be posting them forthright, as soon as is humanly and humanely possible to do. Life is returning to a somewhat semblance of order so I can return to entertaining my many loyal and trusted followers. It gives me great pleasure to do so.

I realize that the new crew, which is the permanent replacement crew for the Norwegian Escape in 2017, will eventually get their barrings and leave their marks on service, consistency and quality. I can not fault the crew for the majority of our experiences. Some, very much so, yes. Most, though, are not at all the fault of the cruise line. This cruise was a Perfect Storm of if it's going to happen to "Trouble", it will happen to me. Trust me, it did.

That being said, we are sailing on the Norwegian Escape in March, 2017, once more, to finally gauge how the crew has adapted to these new Officers who will guide her through to the next chapter.

Here's to Jovo, Kevanc, Dominic, Melroy, Anthony, Rogeliza, Elizabeth, Diana, Darren, Pamela, Jose, St Clare, Leonora, Moises, Tyler, and so many more!

Here is a quick snapshot of the Officers on the Norwegian Escape:

The Captain didn't lie, he just was confused on the day in question. When the ship was in Nassau there was a passenger that went into cardiac arrest and was revived by the NCL Crew, and the awesome Medical Center on the Norwegian Escape took care of the passenger.

The stabbing was a whole different set of bananas on board.

We leave in two weeks for the escape. Did you notice your grey goose martinis nit covered under your UBP

Sent from my iPad using Forums

I know you are probably at sea right as we speak, but yes, for everyone else, my Grey Goose Martini's and Jerome's Bulliet Manhattan's were included in the UBP.
