puggylicious Posted July 3, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2016 Wondered if anyone has seen a cruise ship from the beach along the Jersey shore? If so from where and what time approximately after it has set sail?
King of Cruising Posted July 3, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2016 No, but I will see the Jersey shore from a cruise ship in November.
RocklandCruiser Posted July 3, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2016 Yes I was in Ocean Grove last summer and saw the Norwegian Gem. I think it was around 7pm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
bethc1952 Posted July 3, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 3, 2016 You can often see them sail by from at least as far south as Long Branch. I think by the time a ship is at the latitude of the South Jersey beaches it's probably too far out to be seen. Beth
cb at sea Posted July 3, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 3, 2016 Head to Va. Beach...you can see them easily, as the shipping lanes are just offshore! Navy ships, cargo ships, cruise ships....all are quite visible, especially, with binoculars...you can see the name of the ships! Also, dolphins are frequent...usually 2-3 times per day, pods will be frolicking, fishing, etc.!
nelblu Posted July 3, 2016 #6 Share Posted July 3, 2016 Saw a cruise ship, could not tell which ship or cruise line as it was too distant to clearly see while staying at Bally's A.C. casino. Wish I had binoculars.
puggylicious Posted July 4, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted July 4, 2016 Thank you all for your responses. I will have to give it a try. Any excuse to sit on the beach during sunset ;-)
