Free drinks

If you are in the casino and hit 1500 points on a 7 day or more cruise, they give you a "Drinks on Us" card. You can only get the free drinks in the casino and you have to be playing. I'm not sure what the formula is to get those points though. It's not dollar for one point though. You can bet a dollar, win, then bet that money and win, bet that money and win type deal. If you were extremely lucky, you could start out with a small amount of money and as long as you kept winning and kept betting that money, you could get that card. Most people aren't that lucky though. :(

Journeys cruises have one night where certain drinks are free. The ships have a liquor tasting.

Carnival doesn't do the free drink packages. At times they do offer OBC.

I just posted a similar post...

I compared carnival and NCL...transportation to Baltimore and NYC is the same for us.

I looked at price for both and NCL "free" offer came out to be the same price as booking carnival with Cheers.

So all in all nothing is reall free lol

At least in my comparison

I do recall that when I cruised on the Triumph out of Galveston in 2012, they had free drinks at the "Meet the Captain" event on the formal night AND free drinks at the "Farewell Party" on the last night. I took advantage of both events!

Unfortunately, those days are long gone. The only free drink now is the "champagne" at the art auctions.

Oh, yes, the "farewell party" which was canceled due to lack of interest cuz on last evening (5:00?) when people were packing to go home the next day. Plus it was advertized at the very beginning of the cruise hoping that people wouldn't remember it. Good job, Carnival.

Do miss the farewell party. Unfortunately it was set up to fail due to lack of interest.

FYI

It's 1 point for every $2.50 played.
