Getting off the ship

Our experience in the past few years is that they will try to have everyone off by 9; 9:30 at the latest. Guests will begin arriving for the next sailing about 10:30-11 leaving very little time for the crew to get the ship cleaned & ready for this new passengers.

It is always a sense of excitement when boarding one's cruise ship even for those who have cruised many times. The earlier we can get on board id dependant upon how soon the crew can clear the ship of those whose cruise has finished. With this in mind one should try and vacate the ship as soon as practicable and vacate cabins no later than 8.00 am

In the past, we've always able to get off the ship around 930AM - 1000AM. I assume this hasn't change has it???

Unless you are on a select European cruise...and you purchase the "Extend Your Stay" option...then you can stay onboard until 90 minutes before the ships next departure !

If a person is not self-disembarking and has to retrieve their luggage would it be easy to meet up with 2 other couples for transport to Rome by 8:00 am? I had originally chosen 9:00 am thinking it would be a safe time, but if we can manage an earlier time that would be great! Any help from those who have done this in the past would be much appreciated.

Yes it is possible. When the disembarkation request arrives get the person who is not self disembarking to request as early as possible a disembarkation. It will be around 7.00 am or may be earlier. This will ensure that their bags will be ashore when they actually leave. If you are self disembarking you and your companions can leave the ship together, the only difference is that you will have your bags and theirs will already be ashore.

The crew will not prevent anyone from leaving early, any possible hold up will be getting bags ashore
