Day 1 Embarkation

After 10 months of anticipation our day finally arrived, there were four of us ,myself DW, 2 DD. It was going to be sunny this day with temps in the 80s. We live 30 minutes from the port so we decided to leave at 9:30 AM. We arrived at the Port at 10:00 AM and were directed to line #2, we were the first car in this line. We were told by the attendant it would be about 45 minutes for us to proceed. At 11:00 the first row was called to enter were you drop off your luggage. At about 11:15 we were able to proceed, we dropped off our luggage and moved on to the pay booth, $105.00 for the week, then we parked our car. We then walked over to the terminal building this is where they first check your docs, please have them ready. After this step we moved on to the screening area, quite painless and were directed to the Priority Line, we booked a suite for this cruise. This process took about 10 minutes, after receiving our S$S cards we were told to see a gentleman at the end where once again he checked our boarding pass. There is separated area where they sit you if you are in a Wedding Party are Diamond or Platinum, Priority or FTTF, you are called in this order to board the ship. We sat in an area for Priority Cruisers. The wedding Party was called at about 12:00 PM, then we were called about 12:15. By 12:35 we were on the lido and were one of the first in line for Guys Burger. myself I loved them but the ladies in the family were not impressed. The Cruise director Schwartz made an announcement he would notify us when our rooms were ready, however at 1:30 we decided to see our room on deck 6 room 6134 OS. Yes it was ready! While waiting for some luggage we headed down to the Kiosk to set up access and apply our Carnival Gift Cards. After this was completed we ventured back to our room and our luggage had arrived so we started unpacking. We enjoyed our Balcony until our dinner. We had an issue while sitting on our Balcony, our neighbors decided to play loud music, we thought this may be a problem throughout the week however after the first day it was not. I did complain to Guest Services though. It was then time to head to the MDR for Dinner 6:00 PM seating. We met our wait staff at this time. A comment on our staff, they were most excellent throughout the week, very attentive, never had a wait for our apps, meals or desserts. (Food Review To Follow Later). After dinner we went to the welcome aboard show, walked through the Fun Shops and of course some late night pizza and ice cream. We are not late night people so at 11:00 we called it a night. To Be Continued
