dd likes to cruise Posted August 3, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2016 Very silly question - on a ship like Oasis of the Sea, if it rains or storms does the Boardwalk and Central park areas get wet? We are booked for January 2017 and each time I see pictures and see the open area I wonder. Thanks
Royal2464 Posted August 3, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 3, 2016 (edited) Yes. The boardwalk and Central Park areas are open to the elements. Edited August 3, 2016 by Royal2464

VPKara Posted August 3, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2016 Yes, but Central Park has umbrellas by the doors for you to use to get through the rain if you like! Rained on us and came in handy!
cb at sea Posted August 3, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 3, 2016 They don't ALLOW it to rain on that ship!!! Lol..just kidding! Of course, any outdoor area will get wet!
OCruisers Posted August 3, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 3, 2016 There are umbrellas for your use going to a Central Park restaurant. If it begins raining while you're at a restaurant there, they will have some or them for you. :)
csnarpy Posted August 3, 2016 #9 Share Posted August 3, 2016 Still remember when it was pouring in Jamaica, we stayed on board and ran through Central Park to get to Vintages.i think we were there from 1pm till 11. It ended being one of the best days of the cruise, Wine & Dine!
SC_Floaters Posted August 3, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 3, 2016 (edited) It all depends on whether Scottie has the Shields up or down over the Boardwalk or Central Park. Ooppss!! Wrong Ship... I was thinking Enterprise... Just some fun !! :) Edited August 3, 2016 by SC_Floaters Correct Spelling
Merion_Mom Posted August 3, 2016 #11 Share Posted August 3, 2016 One of my favorite things to watch from the windows of the old Concierge Lounge, now the Diamond Lounge. You probably don't notice, just walking around, but there are drain covers on the Boardwalk. After it rains, crew members come out with big brooms and sweep the water into the drains. :)
Rare mil76 Posted August 3, 2016 #12 Share Posted August 3, 2016 Not just rain, but in Central Park if you hit rough seas and they don't empty the pools, you can get pool water splashing down as well. We were skirting a hurricane once and hit rough seas and people walking through Central Park were getting drenched with water from the pools. It got to the point that they closed Central Park except for people who had reservations in the Specialty restaurants. We sat having dinner while watching what looked like buckets of water being dumped from the pool deck.
