Rain on the Oasis of the Sea?

Very silly question - on a ship like Oasis of the Sea, if it rains or storms does the Boardwalk and Central park areas get wet?

 

We are booked for January 2017 and each time I see pictures and see the open area I wonder.

Yes. The boardwalk and Central Park areas are open to the elements.

Yes, but Central Park has umbrellas by the doors for you to use to get through the rain if you like! Rained on us and came in handy!

They don't ALLOW it to rain on that ship!!! Lol..just kidding! Of course, any outdoor area will get wet!

There are umbrellas for your use going to a Central Park restaurant.

If it begins raining while you're at a restaurant there, they will have some or them for you. :)

Still remember when it was pouring in Jamaica, we stayed on board and ran through Central Park to get to Vintages.i think we were there from 1pm till 11. It ended being one of the best days of the cruise, Wine & Dine!

One of my favorite things to watch from the windows of the old Concierge Lounge, now the Diamond Lounge.

 

You probably don't notice, just walking around, but there are drain covers on the Boardwalk.

 

After it rains, crew members come out with big brooms and sweep the water into the drains.

Not just rain, but in Central Park if you hit rough seas and they don't empty the pools, you can get pool water splashing down as well. We were skirting a hurricane once and hit rough seas and people walking through Central Park were getting drenched with water from the pools. It got to the point that they closed Central Park except for people who had reservations in the Specialty restaurants. We sat having dinner while watching what looked like buckets of water being dumped from the pool deck.
