Faival Posted August 27, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2016 Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced, very satisfactory hotel in the V & A Waterfront area. Thanks.

Chavonnes Battery Posted August 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 28, 2016 Hello Faival, the V&A Waterfront and surrounds has a huge variety of accommodation options to choose from, Trip Advisor is always a good option, or you could look at the V&A Website... http://www.waterfront.co.za/stay/overview If you are wanting to visit Robben Island while you are here, I suggest you book your tickets well in advance as it tends to be booked up weeks in advance in peak season. You can get your tickets online at... https://www.webtickets.co.za/
Rare TLCOhio Posted August 28, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 28, 2016 Suggest you research this on tripadvisor.com. Agree on above about checking TripAdvisor. BUT, part of the question is as to whether you want to be directly in the middle of the busy V&A Waterfront?? Or, nearby? For our five days in wonderful Cape Town earlier this year, we did not want to be too much right in the middle of the "circus". We were close to there, but got a different feel for the town by staying at the Cape Royale Hotel. Here is more regarding the Cape Royale Hotel. This location was a handy, easy walk from the V&A Waterfront. It overlooked where the oval stadium sits that hosted the 2010 World Cup soccer games. This hotel is an apartment/suite-style facility with many dining and shopping options nearby. It was built and open in 2010 in connection with the World Cup being in South Africa. It is at 47 Main Rd, Green Point, Cape Town, 8005, South Africa. Their website is: http://www.caperoyale.co.za. As the picture below shows, it has a "French-style", cosmopolitan style/design. We loved the location as we did not want to be too much in the middle of the V&A waterfront. That shopping/entertainment area is nice to visit, but we wanted more of a "feel" for being in Cape Town, experiencing more of the city, living in the community, etc. And, being safe and handy as added factors. The staff and facilities worked very well at the Cape Royale. They have a nice pool/deck area on the top of the hotel that offered nice views, food/drink potentials, etc. THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio AFRICA?!!?: Lots of interesting and dramatic pictures can be seen from my latest live/blog at: http://www.boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2310337 Now at 18,884 views for this reporting and visual sharing that includes Cape Town, all along the South Africa coast, Mozambique, Victoria Falls/Zambia and Botswana's famed Okavango Delta area. Here is one exterior view of the Cape Royale Hotel that was near the V&A Waterfront and overlooked where the oval stadium that hosted the 2010 World Cup soccer games.: Here are two more pictures related to the Cape Royale hotel where we stayed. First is their main entrance. Second was the view from our room with its French balcony and the view towards the 2010 World Cup stadium. Very close, right?:
Rare PaulMCO Posted August 29, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 29, 2016 If you wish to stay in the midst of the action -- we can recommended the Victoria and Alfred Hotel. We have stayed in the past here, reasonably priced compared to others and we will be staying here again for our upcoming Silversea cruise.
