Giving a Princess a try

Hi-

Just booked a 10 Day Mexican Rivera on the Grand Princess RT SF. Really looking for a cruise that will begin and end just with an Uber trip across the Bay Bridge. I really wish HAL and others would give SF more business but I'm grateful Princess home-port's there.

We love the Grand and cruising from our home port. We take a Mexican Riviera cruise every year that we can. We now have a new terminal, Port 27, which has made both embarkation and disembarkation a breeze!!

Enjoy!

Been on the Grand twice. A little larger than we'd like, but had a good time. Best feature is the International Café -- really great. Also fun to experience the "whale's mouth" at the bow. The best enrichment speakers we've ever experienced were on the Grand.

We left NorCal in 2011, when they were still debating Pier 27. Glad it turned out ok.

We cruised Princess exclusively for many years. We were very happy with Princess. But we have now switched over to HAL simply because Princess ships were getting too big for us. We prefer ships with less than 3,000 passengers.

The Grand is a perfect size ship for us along with her sisters, The Golden, The Diamond, and The Sapphire Princess. All take around 2,600 passengers.

However the other ships of this class have an extra deck of berths and carry around 3,100 passengers. They are The Star, The Crown, The Caribbean, The Emerald, and The Ruby Princess. These are too big for us. And of course their newest ships the Royal and Regal Princess are even bigger.
