Familyforce6 Posted September 1, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2016 Hello! I haven't been on a cruise in forever, so forgive me if this is a dumb question. Can you take the ship towels off the ship into the ports? I know you are charged if they are not returned. Also, if anyone has stayed in a cabin with bunk beds, do they come out of the wall, and are they big enough for 2 people in each. TIA!:)

uprivermama Posted September 1, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2016 You are welcome to take towels off the ship when in port. As you said, if you don't return the same number of towels as your cabin steward leaves for you (or that you checked out at the towel cabana on the lido), you will be charged. The bunk beds are actually called "pullman" beds; they are lowered from the ceiling by your steward. They are only meant for one person. Happy planning! Make sure you take beach towels off the ship, not the white bath towels.
SadieN Posted September 1, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 1, 2016 Which ship? The Fantasy class and IS on the Spirit Class (might be on others) have the bunks attached to the walls. Other classes have them stored in the ceilings. Weight limit is 250#. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

coevan Posted September 2, 2016 #7 Share Posted September 2, 2016 We are sailors and love these towels. The Carnival towels are huge and take up a whole backpack. These microfiber towels fold to the size of a dish towel and they dry super fast, well worth the investment. https://www.amazon.com/Quick-Dry-Towel-Lightweight-Microfibre/dp/B00NGZLN0M/?gclid=Cj0KEQjwo5--BRCS8ceLjv-XppUBEiQAGp15EOs_wvYizrVIXxBDGzoTMkKy7dNIBWTSpWkJiMaWm6oaAkux8P8HAQ
Organized Chaos Posted September 2, 2016 #8 Share Posted September 2, 2016 If you're referring to the pullman beds, they fold down out of the ceiling. If you look at your cabin on the Deck Plans for your ship on the Carnival website, it'll specify if it's a pullman bed. They look like this (not our cabin, by the way)... When folded into the ceiling, they lock with a special key. Your steward had to unlock it. They fold twice...once down from the ceiling, then the actual bed portion folds down. Our steward folded the bed up to its vertical position and left the other section hanging down during the day. It was never in our way. Then he folded it down, hung the ladder, and made up the bed during turn-down service. One night we beat him to it and folded it down ourselves. skyeman27 Posted September 2, 2016 #11 Share Posted September 2, 2016 They have pool/beach towels. Don't take your bath towels! Why? I like to take the white bath towels because they are smaller and take up less space and lighter. I don't need a large beach towel for the beach.
