Ribeye or not

I will be on the Coral Princess next month, so I have a question for those that might know if they serve Ribeye steaks in the Bayou Cafe? If not can you please tell me what kind of steaks they do serve?

Usually on embarkation night in the MDR they have prime rib. I like it, especially with the horseradish sauce. :D

Here's the menu for the Bayou Cafe. It does not show a ribeye, but I can vouch for the filet.

Generally a rib eye, NY Strip, filet and T Bone. You can also get a tail added if you like. I'm going to try to weasel a piece of halibut or Chilean sea bass with my cow selection in a few weeks on the Regal. [emoji4]
Just the NY Strip, Porterhouse and filet as well as prawns, catfish and chicken at the Bayou Cafe. Lobster tails are added cost.

I can’t speak for the selection of steaks on the Coral Princess, but I did have a Ribeye in the Crown Grill on the Royal Princess this past February.
OP asked specifically about the Coral which has the Bayou Cafe and Steakhouse which has a significantly different menu than the Crown Grill on the Royal.

Ask if the Chef can prepare for you a 32 oz. Ribeye or Porterhouse. Cowboy style Tomahawk cut.. I like mine charred outside and rare inside. :D. Add a lobster tail or two if stll hungry.

Enjoy your cruise. And good eating! :)

FYI... a porterhouse is a T-bone style cut with both rib eye and filet mignon, so yes they have rib eye

I don't think this is actually completely right, at least in the US, as Ribeyes are a rib steak generally without a bone, but sometimes are bone-in and called a Cowboy Ribeye. These come from further up in the cow toward the middle in the Rib section of the cow. You can get a Ribeye in the Crown Grill, but I don't think so in the Bayou Steak House. (I still bet you could ask, especially if it is a day before and maybe they can accommodate your craving?)

A Porterhouse and a T-Bone are close to each other, but a Porterhouse has more Tenderloin steak than a T-Bone and are cut further back in the cow from the Short Loin section of the cow. One side of the T-Bone or Porterhouse is the short loin or Strip Steak, and the other side is the tenderloin. T-Bones can be cut thinner by definition at about 0.5"+, and Ribeyes should be about 1.25"+ at its widest.

The Tenderloin is commonly called a Filet Mignon, and the Strip Steak is commonly called a New York Steak.

Regardless, all are great steaks, and I have a hard time choosing between Porterhouse and Ribeyes!!! :D

I am really craving a good steak now!!!

Happy cruising!

Happy Cruising!!

Added: Notice the size of the steak in relation to the plate!!!
