frankc98376 Posted September 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2016 We are thinking about buying pesos pesos before we leave for Mexico in October. Anyone know the current price for taxis in Puerto Vallarta from the pier to the Malecon area? Both on the pier and off would be helpful and $$ as well as pesos. Ine Posted September 11, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2016 Yellowcabs near the gasstation or Walmart will charge 80 or 90 Pesos (not per person) to the Malecon. Always make your price before boarding. Cabs at the terminal charge per person, I donot know the current rate.
Rosefloater Posted September 11, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2016 (edited) If taking a taxi back to the port, we have found it cheaper (about $2) to tell the driver to take us either to WalMart or to Soriana. We do some shopping, then walk back to the port. Below is the rate chart for the taxis at the port. It is current as of beginning of Februay. Zone 1: beginning of Malecon; Zone 2: Cathedral area; Zone 3: Old Town (Romantic Zone); Zone 4: Mismaloya. swedish weave Posted September 11, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2016 We always use the white bus with blue trim to go from the marina to downtown. Price is 7.5 pesos (about 50 cents US) per person. They don't accept US coins so we use dollars or pesos if we have them. Return price is the same. There are actually several different color schemes (depending on company) for the local buses. When getting a local bus, from near the gas station in front of the port, you can take any bus that has "Centro" written on the windshield, side window, or sometimes on a small sign inside the windshield. You can also just ask the driver by saying "centro?" as you board and he will usually tell the truth :). Hank
