yuccaman Posted September 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2016 Can anyone spill the beans on what the Princess New Year's Eve experience is like, especially, if possible, the Coral Princess Partial Canal trip? Cruiser411 Posted September 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 25, 2016 Can anyone spill the beans on what the Princess New Year's Eve experience is like, especially, if possible, the Coral Princess Partial Canal trip? Thanks! Sent from my iPad using Forums It will mostly likely be a formal night. There will be multiple parties throughout the ship, with a balloon drop in the atrium. There'll also be a big party up on deck at the MUTS pool. I've sailed multiple times on New Years on Princess ships and had a great time on each cruise. Enjoy! Cruisin' Chick Posted September 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 25, 2016 We've been on three cruises (the rT Hawaiian ones on the Island and Golden) that have included NYE. It was a formal night all three times and there was a lot of live music and a major balloon drop in the grand atrium (and perhaps other venues). It's like going to a major party, but you don't have to worry about driving home among intoxicated drivers.
JF - retired RRT Posted September 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 26, 2016 No one mentioned...when you go to dinner in the MDR, men are given a "top hat" and women are given a "tiara" (cardboard :p) and everyone gets a flute/horn kind of toy (cardboard). Rare taxatty Posted September 27, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 27, 2016 We were on that cruise on New Year's Eve--it was a lot of fun--I still have the hat JF mentioned. Highly recommended.
JoyrieM Posted October 24, 2016 #7 Share Posted October 24, 2016 There's mention of several NYE parties on Coral Princess especially balloon drop in the grand atrium. I'll be celebrating a milestone birthday on New Year's Day so really wanting to have a great time celebrating when the ball drops at midnight. Wondering if any suggestions to plan ahead so it's a memorable time?
yuccaman Posted October 24, 2016 Author #8 Share Posted October 24, 2016 Will the Christmas/Holiday decorations still be up? Our sailing is 12/28-1/
Rare geoherb Posted October 24, 2016 #9 Share Posted October 24, 2016 The Christmas trees were still around the ship on our 12/30/14 sailing on the Caribbean Princess. We boarded the ship on 12/27 and to tie two short cruises together. One good thing about being on the earlier cruise was that we were able to book the specialty restaurants on the last day of the first cruise for the second cruise. We ate at the Crown Grill on New Year's Eve (and Sabatini's the night before). A lot of other passengers were complaining about not being able to get reservations. By the end of our second cruise (1/3/15), most of the Christmas decorations were down or in the process of being taken down.

Ultimate Balcony Dinner to celebrate your birthday that night is lovely. NYE will be a major ship-wide parry, special menu in dining room, bands playing everywhere, balloon drop, DJ later on, etc... Got that part covered! Enjoy!
