You will enjoy the Grandeur. The crew is great and the ship is also going to drydock in April 2017. Not sure what is going to be done but she does need some cosmetic fixes. The balcony is nice but remember sailing out of Baltimore in March you will have cold weather for the first day and half and then again on your return trip up the bay. We sail the Grandeur March and November every year. Love the ship, crew and the ease of boarding in Baltimore.

Our favorite ship since they took Explorer away from us in NJ. Have 8 booked on her. We're probably on your March sailing. Traditional smaller ship. Fewer passengers and a great crew. The cabins are a little tired as to be expected but very clean. Only balconies have mini fridges and while the tvs are all flat screen now, they are not interactive. Inside public spaces all look great, not worn at all. Nice casino and theater. Shows pretty good as they get some real good one nighters. Production shows ok but we've seen them all. Think you'd enjoy her.

I love RCI ships especially the Grandeur .However ,I do have one thing that really bothers me .

I get up at 6AM every day and go to the ships fitness center on every cruise ship . The Grandeur fitness center cannot be gotten to by elevator .You have to go to the last deck and walk up a flight of stairs .

I do not have a problem walking up but walking down is very difficult for me and anyone in a wheelchair or walker or anyone who has several other medical problems cannot get to the fitness center.

I have not been on Grandeur, but on other Vision class ships, you can take the elevator to deck 10, go outside, and enter the fitness center from the outside.

You can technically do this on Grandeur, but there is still a step to get in and out of the gym. It's not wheelchair accessible at all.

The Grandeur is a lovely ship, similar in size and layout as the Carnival Spirit-class ships. She does not have the bells 'n whistles of the newer, larger RCI ships, but she has a traditional feel and is very easy to get around.

I didn't stay in a balcony room, so I can't comment on that. But I really enjoyed my cruise on her last January. As you can tell from my list below, I've sailed Carnival many times, but it was my first RCI cruise. I was on the cruise that got delayed getting back to port by a day due to the huge snow storm that shut down the port in Baltimore. We had a rocky ride for a few days as well due to the huge storm. But the crew did a great job keeping us entertained and extending the food for an extra day (they ran out of a few things but no one starved!). The captain sailed the ship in a way to minimize the rocking as much as he could. The crew was great. Overall very comparable to the Carnival cruises that I have taken. I would definitely sail on her again in a heartbeat!!!

The elevator is a considerable distance and if it is a very windy day it is very difficult to enter that way ,in addition the staff of the Fitness Center tend to keep the door locked.
