I'm looking for a new camera for my cruise, saw this one at Costco. I want to take pictures but don't need fancy. Anyone have any advice about this camera?

It's not quite my ideal bridge camera - I will want a viewfinder in addition to the back of the camera. [One reason I keep my old FZ-50 as my walk around camera].

 

It does have a nice wide angle range for the zoom, and optical stabilization for the tele end [holds the image steady, does nothing for the moving subject].

The lack of a viewfinder would rule it out for me, but if that doesn't bother you (and many moving from a phone to a camera couldn't care less) it's not a bad bit of gear.

Any suggestions for me for a camera, looking to try to stay under $350. Thanks for the info on the Canon one.

I've seen the SX-530 for between $200 - 225. The main negative is the lack of a viewfinder. A positive is the 50X zoom. I have a SX-40 with a 35X zoom and after 6,000+ pictures am very happy with it. The SX-530 has many of the same features.
