Once you have purchased a bottle of wine, you may do with it what you wish. :)

yes - I have also purchased a bottle for another guest at the table who didnt have a package. Not strictly within the rules but the waiter never questioned it.

There is no rule against sharing bottles of wine purchased at a discount.

When you buy a specific drink, you are free to to with it as you please.

Packages are a different story...anything gotten from a PACKAGE belongs only to the package owner. Sort of like an "all you can eat" buffet....you pay the price and it's only for 1 person...

So how is this enforced? I was thinking of buying one package but getting my wife drinks using it. How can that work or not work?

That won't work!

You getting your wife drinks on your package is so different from buying a discounted bottle of wine. If you want to buy her a discounted bottle of wine with your package that is fine.

You can only get one drink at a time , so one of you would have to sit there without a drink or try and share the one drink .

I can see no reason why you wouldn't want to share the occasional soda up on deck but to go with the intention of sharing drinks is a little sad IMO.

Unfortunately that is what they refer to as stealing and it is very much against the rules. Would you ever walk into a buffet, pay for one person and let your wife "eat off your plate"? If you get caught, and yes I have seen a LOT of people get caught you will end up paying full price for every drink you have bought and your package will be revoked. Makes for a pretty lousy trip I am sure.
