Can you skype using voom?

Can you use voom packages to access Skype onboard the Anthem, or is Skype blocked?

People have reported being able to use Skype.

Also, using the iPhone with AT&T Wifi calling worked also.

 

So when you get on the ship, turn on airplane mode, then re-enable WiFi on your phone. Connect to the WiFi on the ship, and you will be able to make phone calls using the ship's WiFi for basically free.

Skype, Netflix, iMessage and anything else I tried worked on Allure earlier this year. Anthem has the same type of internet (O3b) as Allure, so you should be fine. (Basically Quantum and Oasis class ships have the "good" internet. The rest of the fleet does not.)

Majesty also has the 'good' internet. We were on it and were getting at least 4-5 Mbps download speed. We streamed video from my slingbox without issue.

I believe Freedom also has O3b.

Basically Quantum and Oasis class ships have the "good" internet. The rest of the fleet does not......

....with a few exceptions.;)

Oasis has blazing fast internet and I was able to FaceTime with no issue.

Going On the Majesty in 2 weeks and I understand it now has the new " VOOM " internet, can it be used everywhere on the ship or just certain areas?
