HAL excursion in Santo Tomas de Castilla

We're contemplating a Holland America cruise, but try as I might, I can't find any excursion information for Santo Tomas de Castilla. I'm looking specifically for Hollands excursions, as I have read some sketchy issues with ones sold at the port or on the internet.

Since we haven't booked this cruise yet, we can't see what Holland offers. Has anyone taken any HAL excursions that you would be willing to share?

Thanks

You can see HAL excursion offerings without having a booking. Start a booking, and when you get to the page showing the itinerary, click on the blue button just above the Day/Date/Port columns that says VIEW SHORE EXCURSIONS. They may not all be there if you are looking more than 6 months out, however. Prices are shown.

Years ago we did a HAL excursion to see the Quirigua stela which we enjoyed, but it was about 2 hours on a bus going and returning for 1 hour there.

See http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/149 and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quirigua

You don't have to book a cruise to see the shore excursions. HAL wants you to know what is available to entice you to book the cruise. From the Holland website.

In that case look at a closer sailing, for example the Oosterdam out of Tampa on Nov 18:

Double-click the VIEW SHORE EXCURSIONS button and Save the PDF for reading off-line.

Actually we are looking in December. I realize there are a few on their website but typically I see multiple pages show up after booking. I suppose this could be so small of a port that these are all the excursions they offer...

Thanks for all the replies so far.

The PDF you get by following the instructions in post #5 has 2 pages, 11 excursions, for Santo Tomas

We did the Tikal tour when we were there in 2015. Awesome tour, bucket list quality. Pricey and long but worth every penny. You are the first ones off and last to return. You will see and be able to examine and climb up on Mayan ruins that no other locations offer. The place is only about 15% uncovered and is a working site.

Almost all of the archaeological tours are worth the time and $.

We'll be there again next March and will do some of the other tours.
