MKellyUtah Posted November 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2016 A couple of years ago we took a cruise on Silhouette & they had a daily, printed news sheet available near the Guest Services desk. It had basic news headlines ... weather ... sports, and they had them with news from different countries (U.S. ... Canada ... UK ... etc.) I have an upcoming cruise on the Eclipse, and was wondering if anyone had seen them on that ship. (I'd like to keep up on what's going on in The Real World just a little --- but not too much!) Thanks for your help!

ClaudiaB Posted November 14, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2016 You can also turn on Fox, CNN, Sky News and some other news channels on the tv in your cabin.

Northern Aurora Posted November 14, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 14, 2016 We left the Solstice less than a month ago after spending 30+ nights onboard. On the second day after boarding we checked the area outside of Guest Relations where the rack for the news bulletins is generally located, and the rack only held copies of the daily cross-word and sudoko puzzles. My husband stood in line to ask a staff person at GR about the time the mini-newspapers would be out, and was told that the daily news bulletins no longer were printed but to check the TV for news articles. At the far right of the entertainment section TV menu was indeed a news section offering articles in multiple languages. Articles in English alone exceeded 100 daily. It was an adjustment to read the articles off of the TV screen, but we did find that we preferred to have a much larger selection of articles to read versus the four or so page mini-newspapers covering countries represented by the ship passengers. The news articles on the TV were longer and more current that the former printed ones. Any other ship doing the same, or was this an experiment on the Solstice? AlanAllyn Posted November 15, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 15, 2016 In the past, you could ask at the front desk and they would deliver it to your cabin each morning. I'll see what happens in 3 weeks on the Silhouette.
MKellyUtah Posted November 15, 2016 Author #8 Share Posted November 15, 2016 NorthernAurora Thanks for the tip on finding the news stories on the TV. I'll look for those ... Merlin5353 / AlanAllyn Thanks for the feedback. Looks like they might still print them and, if not, I'll have some options.
