caral2004 Posted November 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2016 Hello Any advice for renting a car or better, a moke, at Bridgetown cruise terminal?
bakersdozen12 Posted November 18, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2016 Honestly, I would not rent a car in Barbados. We did a tour there last week that pretty much took us around the whole island. There are not many signs along the roads, so it's easy to get lost. Our tour guide even pointed this out and commented on it. Just curious, where exactly were you planning on going while in port? caral2004 Posted November 23, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted November 23, 2016 We would like to go to Harrison cave then the bath and then just visit. We used to rent car in many islands.
Rustybuttons123 Posted November 23, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2016 I've driven in Barbados, didn't get lost. Of course a tour guide is going to say its easy to get lost, they want you to buy their services. Car rental companies will deliver, just get a hold of some, check their rates and set it up. Rare MrSchwump Posted November 23, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 23, 2016 If you want to drive, I think Barbados is one of the better islands. The roads are in very good condition. I thought the roads in the countryside were well marked. Bridgetown was tough to navigate but the ship is the tallest thing in town so you'll get there eventually. 😀 It's fun to drive on the wrong side of the road too! We rented a car at the cruise terminal.
Rare Hlitner Posted November 23, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 23, 2016 Wish I could remember the local company we used, but they simply delivered the car right to the port. We met our rental car agent in the terminal, completed the paperwork on the spot, and he handed us the keys. We did get lost a few times (when way out in the countryside near Harrison' Cave) and had to stop to ask directions (this is hard for any man to admit). But all was good. dodger1964 Posted November 29, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 29, 2016 We rented car last year (don't remember company...might have been coastal?) and we just met them at the port gate. This year (December 26th) we are renting from Hertz. $75 total price...I couldn't resist that price.
Duanerice1 Posted December 7, 2016 #8 Share Posted December 7, 2016 Does Hertz deliver and pick up from the cruise terminal? I am booked with Voyager (at the pier) but would prefer Hertz. Also I'm booked at $95 but took the insurance and the GPS :) We love renting a car on the islands if we are there long enough.
