Drink package

Just was filling my info on line for upcoming Royal cruise. Was looking at drink package it was showing $56 a day. Thought it was 44? Anyone know. Thanks a lot guys.

It is a lot ... we don't buy one unless it is a perk thrown in when they have that sale going on.

Also, don't forget, you are able to take wine and champagne onboard and only pay the corkage for those beyond your 2 corkage free bottles or any bottles you intend on drinking outside your stateroom. The corkage fee is $15 per bottle and the bottles are stickered / stamped so you can take them to the dining room or a bar.

They sell wine packages onboard for most cruises over 8 days...maybe it is 10 days?? This can save you some money if you are a wine drinker and don't feel like lugging your own wine onboard.

Also, there are a couple of happy hours per day where you buy one, get one of the same for $1. This is a big money saver.

You can buy a coffee card at the beginning of the cruise if you would get your coffee by a barista.

You can order a case of water or some bottles of alcohol prior to boarding at a savings over what you would be charged at a bar. I believe, but don't know for absolute sure, that you are requested to consume that alcohol in your stateroom.

Buckets of beer are charged at 4 bottles but you get the 5th for free (or is it 5 paid and 6th for free?)

Some events have free alcohol ...not high quality but free, nonetheless. Art auction comes to mind but there are others.

If you gamble, sometimes they will comp you a drink in the casino ... not just throwing a few bucks in, though ...but actual gambling.

With all those money saving events and such, we've not had to purchase the alcohol package outright....saved some money to boot.
