Ok I am going solo soon for 3 weeks - has anyone gone to the specialty dining places by themselves - how was that experience?

It is the same as going out to a nice restaurant alone at home. If you don't mind to eat alone, then it is not an issue.

I always travel solo, but that has never stopped me from going to any of the specialty restaurants on any line. The service is usually very good as the waiters and waitresses don't care if you are with someone or alone. I would definitely give them a try. Happy sailing, and I hope you enjoy your cruise.

I have traveled solo for 4 years and I always book specialty dining on every cruise. Most of the time the restaurant manager is by my side for about half the meal to talk to.

I have also dined Specialty on my own....I love it:)....food and service are

usually outstanding.

I just booked a cruise for Feb and plan to dine in Specialty Restaurants

several times......:)

Have done speciality dining on numerous solo cruises on 2 different cruise lines.

Service has always been great if not better than the dining rooms.

The waiters seem to pay a little bit more attention to you which is nice.

I take a hard back library book. Paperbacks don't stay open properly when you have a utensil in hand.

I always dine in the specialty restaurants on a cruise -- being solo won't keep me from enjoying that experience. I'd rather go with someone, but I'd rather go alone than not go. I usually have my phone with me to read or play scabble on, etc., just like I would in any restaurant if I were alone.
