lindy sails Posted December 15, 2016 #126 Share Posted December 15, 2016 Your photos are beautiful! What is your cabin number? Really liked your balcony. I board the Regal on Sunday. Kenosha Cruiser Posted December 15, 2016 #128 Share Posted December 15, 2016 Canadian Burger, I'm still here following your awesome review. Loving the photos, glad you had a chance to go to Maho Beach to see the planes land and take off. We loved hanging out at the Sunset Bar & Grill over looking the beach and watching the planes a couple years ago. Here's a photo of a plane I took back then. I also see Princess is having Bavarian night in the Horizon Court Buffet. This is one of my favorite dinners I look forward to on Princess ships. If they have any decorations and the Bavarian beer girl ice sculpture, I would like to see a few pictures of this if possible. Thanks again for taking the time to do this review. pjrockman Posted December 16, 2016 #129 Share Posted December 16, 2016 I'll take some requests today if there's something specific on the Regal someone wants a pic of. No promises, but I'll do my best. The rainclouds have moved on, so we're back in the sun. As usual, great thread, CanadianBurger. Thanks. Always appreciate the food, food and food pics. As you do, I also go to the MDR, then a quick trip to the buffet to catch up on what I may have missed.... Just got off the Regal in October and back on her next month, so love the food pics. Thanks and Safe Journeys. Paul Sent from my iPad using Forums

Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 16, 2016 Author #131 Share Posted December 16, 2016 (edited) Great twilight shot leaving St. Maarten. It must have been crazy ashore with 6 ships in port, including one of the Behemoths of the Seas. Luckily, we were the first ones out. Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 16, 2016 Author #132 Share Posted December 16, 2016 MDR Dinner. Other than the Goat Cheese Soufflé, probably my least favourite menu.

Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 16, 2016 Author #134 Share Posted December 16, 2016 After dinner we caught Carl Strong's comedy act in the Princess Theatre. He was pretty funny, and his musical numbers were good, but my favourite comedian from a Princess ship is still Steve White. It was non-smoking night in the casino, so I managed to whittle away a couple of hours at the blackjack table. Didn't end up ahead, but had a good time. ar1950 Posted December 16, 2016 #136 Share Posted December 16, 2016 Just curious, what was that item after the goat cheese souffle? It looks like calamari, but, not seeing it on the menu. Those food pictures are making me hungry, btw. :D

Kenosha Cruiser Posted December 16, 2016 #138 Share Posted December 16, 2016 (edited) Canadian Burger, no problem with a picture from Bavarian Night in the buffet. I'm just happy following along with your review & pictures. I noticed back on post #62 they had a nice large Christmas tree decorated in the piazza. I would assume the whole ship would be decorated nicely for the holidays. Any chance for a few photographs of the decorations? Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 16, 2016 Author #139 Share Posted December 16, 2016 Cruise Critic Group Slot Pull We had eighteen people come out for the slot pull. Unfortunately it was the shortest one I've ever experienced. That machine was so tight I'm surprised the reels were able to turn. Still, I think a fun time was had by all. Congratulations to Stuart (Miss Ohio) and Coya (Moosin around the ship) for winning the hat and t-shirt as our highest payout winners.
Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 16, 2016 Author #140 Share Posted December 16, 2016 The vegetable carvings. I wouldn't want to cross paths with that rabbit! Had the usual Eggs Benny brunch in the MDR
Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 16, 2016 Author #141 Share Posted December 16, 2016 Saw the Bar Flair Show at the Seaview Bar on Lido. Not as good as the bartenders last year, but still entertaining. I shot video of it; I'll post a link once I have it edited. Cairn Mom Posted December 17, 2016 #145 Share Posted December 17, 2016 CanadianBurger- you are getting us really excited for our February cruise. It is frigid in NY and we are expecting our first snowstorm. This will be our first time on the Regal. How do the staterooms compare to the Grand class ships? Kenosha Cruiser Posted December 17, 2016 #148 Share Posted December 17, 2016 Canadian Burger, thanks for posting a few of the holiday decorations on the Regal, the trees look beautiful. Also liked the vegetable carving ones. Hope you don't mind, but I have been reposting your Princess Patters on our February roll call for the Regal. Everyone will then have an idea what to expect on our cruise. Looking forward to your activities tomorrow. Cheers - Ken & Darlene
Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 17, 2016 Author #149 Share Posted December 17, 2016 This will be our first time on the Regal. How do the staterooms compare to the Grand class ships? Yes, I see there is lots of snow at home. Not looking forward to the cruise ending! There are pros and cons to the Regal cabins, depending on where you are. Most balconies are FAR shallower than you're used to, unless you have a midship one that's larger. The Deluxe Balcony cabins lack storage space compared to the Grand class. The showers are larger though. The mini-suites have a curtain to separate the bed from the balcony-side of the cabin. I really can't say one is better than the other, they're just a little different. Makes no matter to me, I'm just happy to be cruising!
