Running out of internet time

This is probably answered somewhere, but I can't seem to put together the proper search terms to find it. We are new to Princess.

Let's say you purchase a middle-tier internet package. During the trip, you run out of minutes, as you underestimated your usage. How is this handled? Do you now have to purchase a complete new package or are you allowed to "upgrade" packages for the difference in price?

Never done it, but from what I've heard from other PAX it seems to vary from IT Manager to IT Manager.

I do believe that it is cheaper to buy a package upfront and if you add on later the price is higher. We are platinum and get some free minutes and I know for us to buy extra minutes it is cheaper to do it up front. I have also seen them run specials on the last full day as a set price for the day.

Complete new package is the answer.
