Billfrompa Posted December 22, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2016 What is the policy for accessing cash through your onboard account? Also, what are the access limits. I would rather not have to carry extra cash with me if I don't need to. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, and happy cruising!! Bill
negn Posted December 22, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2016 Don't know the limit but there is a 3% charge for each transaction. If you gamble enough, and use your players card, they may cancel that charge on you final bill. There is an ATM available also.
Namlsnik Posted December 22, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 22, 2016 $3000 per person in the stateroom per day. $90 convenience fee is the 3% on that... Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare BirdTravels Posted December 23, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 23, 2016 (edited) If your bank lets you withdraw $3000, the ATM only charges $5.99 service charge. You need to be a Golden player to get the convenience fee waived. That's about $75,000 in slot play or $150,000 in VP play. casofilia Posted December 23, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 23, 2016 Remember there is now a USD1000 limit for buying OBC.
17cruisesnsl Posted December 23, 2016 #6 Share Posted December 23, 2016 Another option is casino credit. I haven't done this but assume it works like a land casino - credit line established and you draw down against it Norwegian Cruise Line Casino Credit Application Applications must be received at least two weeks prior to sailing date! If approved you are required to bring a personal check to activate your credit line. If your sailing date falls within that 2-week period, please contact the Credit Department at 1-877-625-2094 for timely processing.
garycarla Posted May 8, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 8, 2017 Always curious what "extra cash" means to most people. And, is there a difference if you have $100 or $2000 in your pocket? When was the last time anyone here was robbed or lost money in their pocket? Just wondering.
cb at sea Posted May 8, 2017 #8 Share Posted May 8, 2017 There is a safe in your cabin to keep cash when not needed. No way will I pay a "fee" to get my own money! Bring what you need! Larger bills are much easier to carry than wads of $20's!

And then put it in the safe as soon as they board. And if they really don't want to do that then I would suggest the ATM. $5.99 fee but cheaper than charging to onboard account if you are taking out $200 or more. phoenix1181 Posted May 8, 2017 #10 Share Posted May 8, 2017 For those of you who like to tell the rest of us how to handle our casino funds, try this......... I take cash with me to play & hope I'll have enough luck not to need the stash I didn't bring. If it doesn't work out, I need a way to access the cash & my bank limit on daily ATM withdrawals is ridiculously low. I could bring all the cash I have earmarked for the casino but, it's a head game which, based on the questions and comments I see on this board, only a gambler can understand! Can you increase your daily ATM limit? I know I was able to with Bank of America. I also have 2 accounts so I get the benefit of having double the daily limit in addition to having an American Express prepaid debit card which I deposit money into for vacations and such which I also can access via ATM if I need. garycarla Posted May 9, 2017 #13 Share Posted May 9, 2017 For those of you who like to tell the rest of us how to handle our casino funds, try this........... Not so much "telling" but having a discussion. If people ask, then a discussion follows. Personally - I see no problem carrying a few thousand in cash. I know some folks think they increase the risk of a holdup which is downright illogical and makes no sense. I totally understand that some would have some issues with managing all that money. That's cool. ATM is an easy way to get $1,000 in a hurry for a $6 fee or whatever it is. Easy stuff. Getting $200 at a time and paying the fee makes way less sense. But, I know folks that do it to to help manage their spending. Paying 3% to get it on your credit card is questionable but totally wrong. To each their own.
