EngSet Posted December 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2016 Hi- Can anyone list which Princess ships have indoor or covered pools? Also, are any of the indoor pools for adults only? Thanks!
Pam in CA Posted December 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2016 Coral, Island, Grand, Golden, Sapphire, Diamond, and Star. I don't remember seeing kids in the indoor pools but can't remember if they are adults only.
satxdiver Posted December 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2016 (edited) The Grand, Golden, Star, Coral, and Island. Enclosed pools are allegedly adults only. Edited December 26, 2016 by satxdiver

Rocknie Posted December 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 26, 2016 While the "rule" may be adults only... it is another Princess inconsistency. On a twelve day Med cruise last August the kids literally run the adults out of the indoor (Lotus) pool... same for the hot tubs... you couldn't get in a hot tub most of the time because they were packed with unsupervised kids. (One of their favorite pastimes was jumping out of the hot tubs an into the pool.) Several adults complained to ship personal... best response with got was one day an officer showed up and saw what was happening... only thing he did was to go over to the group say something then he left. As soon as the officer was out of sight back went the kids. It was like that for twelve days! Please understand it was not just a couple of adults there were many adults who complained... but nothing was ever done to fix the problem!!! Rare Coral Posted December 26, 2016 #6 Share Posted December 26, 2016 Coral, Island, Grand, Golden, Sapphire, Diamond, and Star. I don't remember seeing kids in the indoor pools but can't remember if they are adults only. I didn't think they were. I know the aft pool and spa pool on Grand/Diamond class are but not the inside pools.
CruisinFinsUp Posted December 26, 2016 #7 Share Posted December 26, 2016 (edited) We've been on Grand and Star and as I recall the indoor pools were for everyone. We've also been on RCI Jewel and Serenede and there the inside pools were Adults only. Edited December 26, 2016 by cruisintoddler

IECalCruiser Posted December 26, 2016 #9 Share Posted December 26, 2016 (edited) The covered pools on the Grand class ships are not adults only pools. On those five ships the Lap Pool by the Lotus Spa and the Terrace Pool aft are designated adults only. The Coral and Island only have the two main pools, the outdoor Lido Pool and the covered Lotus Pool. The Lotus Pool is typically designated adults only but on cooler cruises in Alaska that appears to not be enforced at times these days. On our Alaskan cruise on the Coral in 2010 it was adults only except when one of the youth groups had a pizza and pool party for dinner. Aquahound Posted December 26, 2016 #10 Share Posted December 26, 2016 While the "rule" may be adults only... it is another Princess inconsistency. It might be an inconsistent policy, but it is consistent industry wide. Cruise lines tend to waive the adults only rule at the indoor pool in cold climates. RCI, Celebrity and HAL do the same thing. (It looks so pretty in the pics). Do you know if there are other adult only areas on the ship (aside of course from the casino and cigar lounge)? Rare grouchomarx Posted December 26, 2016 #12 Share Posted December 26, 2016 The Lotus pool on the Coral is pretty small. On our Panama Canal cruise it was inundated with children, many of whom wanted to dive and snorkel. It was a sad waste of an otherwise relaxing adult area. Pool deck staff barely made an attempt to enforce it. I guess it's just a matter of luck on any given sailing. We couldn't even understand why these kids didn't find the bigger pool more appealing for their high energy activities and why they preferred the little indoor pool. Who knows. Only the aft Terrace pool and the pool by the spa have been adult only. It wouldn't make sense for the covered pool to also be adult only, leaving only one pool for the kids.
