Mickfarland4 Posted December 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2016 Does Carnival ever have promotions where you get OBC when booking? I have been looking at all the lines and I just feel like they would truly be the best fit for us with all the food choices and the waterslides, etc. But, I can't get the free beverage package like with NCL and it has me looking at them too. lol. :p The Cheers program is $59 a day plus gratuity? At least it's $20 cheaper than NCL at $79 a day!
Micahs Grandad Posted December 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2016 Yes but a small amount. For our next carnival cruise a 14 day one we got $ 50 per cabin obc.
sfaaa Posted December 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2016 There was a $200 OBC promo for any cabin type earlier this year . Best promo by far.
crzndeb Posted December 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 26, 2016 Sometimes they will run specials for certain levels also. When I booked the Vista when bookings opened, Plat/Diamond were offered $200 OBC per cabin if booked during the first week. Also, if Cheers is ordered before you board, it comes to $57.44 per day per person including gratuity. If bought onboard, it is $5 more per day
Mickfarland4 Posted December 26, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted December 26, 2016 Ooh, good to know! I thought you could only buy it onboard! I was surprised how pretty I find Pride. I need to find a port close enough to drive to from Cleveland and I really don't want to go past Orlando and would prefer an 8-10 hr drive so it limits us. :(

I loved this one, but the cruise had to be fully paid for in order to get the $200 OBS (just to clarify for others). :)

CalaDragonflyLady Posted January 11, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) Yikes! Lol. Luckily I had some discount Carnival Gift cards saved up, I try to get them whenever I can (via AARP Rewards For Good, Verizon Rewards, or Citi Easy Deals).:D Edited January 11, 2017 by LibratPDX
Moviela Posted January 11, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 11, 2017 If you can make your own decisions about which cruise, when and where look into booking with Costco. They are the same price, and have the same offers as the Carnival site, but they shoot from $70 to several hundred back to you after the cruise in the form of a Costco cash card a few weeks after the cruise. Does anyone else offer a better deal? I am all ears. I am taking a Premier cruise next month in a junior suite, and will get $400 casino cash on board, and $190 Costco card back home. Takes the sting out of a $2300 fare.
