SSAtlantic Posted January 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2017 I have posted this on the roll call for our cruise also. I am interested to know how far/difficult a walk is it from the pier in Halifax to Scotiabank Centre? We would prefer to buy our Tattoo tickets on our own, but are uncertain of transportation to the arena. Thanks
maryann ns Posted January 4, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2017 It is not far but it is uphill. If you are not able to handle that I would suggest a taxi. https://goo.gl/maps/qnWYaP9rt7R2 Are you going to be in port long enough to see the Tattoo? SSAtlantic Posted January 4, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted January 4, 2017 Thanks for the reply and link. We will be overnighting 7/1-7/2 and are planning on getting tickets for 7/1. That is the reason I posted originally as we want to purchase the tickets on our own versus the $169 ticket from the cruise line. We should be fine walking and will enjoy the area near there prior to the show. Is the area relatively safe to walk?
maryann ns Posted January 8, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2017 You will be fine walking. July 1 is Canada Day, our national holiday and this year our 150th birthday, so it may be crowded.
dgparent Posted January 26, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2017 I was actually part of the Tatoo back when I was in the Army, pretty good show. But Halifax is really hilly so you may want to grab a cab.

Maryann: Sorry to jump in and ask an off topic question, but I see you are from NS and may have the answer. Will a ship docked at the cruise pier have a good view of the fireworks? If not, can you suggest a good viewing spot?
maryann ns Posted March 14, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 14, 2017 They will possibly be over the harbour but I don'the know for sure. You can check closers to July.
