Jade Delayed

Norwegian Jade is still at the pier 90 minutes after the sail away time. Any thoughts or info on why they are delayed?

Boarding Bridge is away from the ship but lines are attached and it looks like one of the lower doors is open.

Thanks

I got off the Jade this morning. We docked in Tampa at midnight last night. Cruise Director made an earlier announcement that they were going to do some maintenance to the ship which would involve divers underwater, as part of an environmental initiative that would reduce pollution. Due to the work, they needed to dock early and start the work overnight. It's likely they haven't finished the work yet. Considering that tomorrow's port is Key West, they won't need much time to get there and can spare a few extra hours tonight to finish up.

On board the Jade - USCG has closed the port due to the fog & is expected to provide an update in the 9-10 pm range. General expectation from TPA-area Paz on the Jade is that we will be stuck here until sometime tomorrow.

Looking forward to any updates.

Shop wide evening update: Port of Tampa expected to remain fully closed. Port visit to Key West cancelled. Next update in the morning. Major bummer as we'd never been to Key West and liked this itinerary as an opportunity to get there.

Sorry to hear that you are stranded in port.

About 1 1/2 years ago, we got stuck outside the Port of Miami waiting for the fog to lift and the port to open. Once the port opened around lunch time, we joined a long line of cruise ships and freighters sllllooooowwwly entering the port. Needless to say, everyone in our group missed their flights and were scrambling to go standby.

Looking at AIS data filed on Marinetraffic site, she's heading straight for Cozumel, arriving on Jan. 5th @ 13:00 UTC (that would be 8:00 local time in CZM) - seemed to be skipping Tampa outbound, at least.
