Evening chic on Constellation

Up to you. Plenty of dinner suits in the MDR on our Australia cruise. I wore smart evening dresses (not long) each evening but my husband wore smart fitted shirts with a waistcoat. He has several tuxedos as we are ballroom dancers but decided to save on luggage space. It is a matter of personal choice.

Hi all,

First times on Celebrity and packing for 26 day Indian Ocean trip. Do we take a tux and long gowns for evening chic nights?

Confused

Yes, if you want to take them and enjoy wearing them.

No, if you don't.

Either way will be fine.

You will see a wide variety in styles of evening dress on Celebrity cruises, from formal to very casual and just about everything in between, so wear what makes you happy.

Here's Celebrity's definition of evening chic. As you can see what other have posted is spot on advice.

...Evening Chic is intended to be less dressy than Formal attire...

Women should feel comfortable wearing:

• A cocktail dress

• Skirt, pants or designer jeans with an elegant top

Men should feel comfortable wearing:

• Pants or designer jeans with a dress shirt, button-down shirt or sweater

• Optional sport coat or blazer

Evening Chic means that you can get glamorous and be sophisticated in your own way. If you would like to still wear a tuxedo or formal gown on Evening Chic nights, you absolutely should...

We no longer do tux & long gown. Now DH wears slacks and sport coat & I wear pants & blingy top or dress. Our last cruise we saw a handful of couples in tux & long dress. About 1/3 of the men didn't have a jacket.

With luggage restrictions we never brought the tux just rented one. Now that things are more casual we don't spend the $ to rent a tux.

Anyone want to buy a few long gowns😉

We did a B to B on Connie in August and saw maybe two people wearing Tuxedos!

I certainly would not consider wearing one in the future, as for Celebrity they are a thing of the past, in my opinion.
