Yes, it's worth it IMO, based on one cruise disembarkation using it.

 

Yes, you still need to take your passport. The app is intended to speed processing, not eliminate the need to carry a passport.

My wife, daughter and I each have Global Entry as we travel frequently to visit family in Europe. The best $100 p/p that we've ever spent -- in most cases, literally through Immigration and Customs in 15 minutes or less.

 

That said, if we didn't already have GE, we'd get the mobile app for this in a heartbeat. Anything to speed the process out of the airport is worth it.

Well, since it is free it is worth the cost, but honestly for a cruise customs is so quick it is not worth the effort, and most cruise ports don't use it.
