LewLewBelle Posted January 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2017 I was comped a free cruise YEAH! Conquest from Ft Lauderdale. My question is how long does boarding take? Last cruise we had suite so we were among first to board. FTTF passes are sold out so can't use that option :(
riffatsea Posted January 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2017 You need to go pick a check in time(if that port has them) Then you arrive at that time or afterwards to check in. They give you a number for a boarding group and you wait for your number to be called. No one can tell you how long you will wait. IF you get there later in the afternoon then there will probably be a shorter line.
RWolver672 Posted January 14, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2017 Each cruise will be different depending on how soon the previous cruisers leave the ship and it gets cleared to start boarding again. The one time we cruised out of FLL, we had FTTF and arrived at 10:30. We checked in and then sat and waited until 11:45 before they started boarding. We were onboard by 11:50. luvtovaca Posted January 14, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2017 We got off the Conquest a few week ago. Had 11:30-12 check in time. Got to port around 11 and dropped our bags with porters. They didn't check our time and we got in line. We were through check in, security had our S&S cards, etc. pretty quickly. By the time we got through we hit the restrooms and our boarding group (5) was called. We never sat down! On board by noon or so.

cb at sea Posted January 14, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 14, 2017 If you don't arrive too early, you will walk right on....get there around noon. It's only the folks who get there BEFORE boarding has started that get lined up according to rank or FTTF.
easyboy Posted January 15, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2017 If you really want the FTTF, just keep checking. One may come up.

I will check with them to see! It may and I just didn't know it. How do you Brel if it is priority? I have the 11:30 check in slot
cruisinqt Posted January 17, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 17, 2017 They've started using your passport photo on your S&S card now. So no more waiting in line for everyone to get their photo taken and S&S card printed out. Your S&S card will be ready and waiting for you in your cabin. This eliminates a lot of time wasted standing in line. I'm hearing that the boarding process is much better now. Hopefully you will get on pretty quickly. BallFour4 Posted January 17, 2017 #10 Share Posted January 17, 2017 Unless things have changed since NYE you get your card in the terminal. Boarding in FLL started at 11:30am with our friends in Group 4 being onboard about 20 min after us. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
