Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -no Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Obstructed view. Window with public balcony outside window. Could see ocean over balcony ledge when standing up. Could not see ocean when sitting on bed or chair. Balcony Size? We are not small people and we fit just fine for 2 of us. Any other comments? - For an inside cabin price, the window with obstructed view was nice. Able to tell if it was day or night. People outside during day were unable to see in. Need to keep curtains closed at night. Standard 3 closets, safe, vanity, fridge. Bathroom shelving was a LOT more than other rooms we have had! WIFamily Posted August 1, 2018 #178 Share Posted August 1, 2018 Ship - Fascination Deck - 6 (Upper Deck) Stateroom # - U-79 Stateroom Category – Grand Suite Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very quiet room, just forward of the Extended Balcony Grand Suites. Heard no noise from hallway or above. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Solid wall under railing. Two cabins forward of the Extended Balcony Grand Suites which have balconies that extend out another 4 - 6' on side of ship, so looking backwards was blocked partially. We had friends 12 cabins aft of us in U-107 and could not see them when we were on our balconies. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Fascination ship is older ship and has few balcony staterooms. I would say that the Grand Suite balcony size would be considered normal for a newer ship's Balcony Cabin, and probably small for a newer ship's Grand Suite class. Was wind a problem? - Wind was not a problem.

(With comments on problems) – Not particularly Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes Any specific problems with this cabin? - There were a few notable issues with this particular cabin. First and foremost it is located right off of the Atrium which created issues with noise due to general activity levels as well as increated foot traffic. It was also located directly under the library which we expected to be relatively quiet. Unfortunately we were wrong and we experienced a few nights where the re-arranging of furniture above us woke us up. The walls are also paper thin in these cabins and we could hear, quite easily, "activity" in the room adjacent to ours. We noted mold in the shower area of the bathroom as well as a flooding problem if the shower and sink were used at the same time. other comments? - The Imagination is an older ship and definitely showing her wear these days even with the recent refurbishment. (With comments on problems) – Very close to the elevators but we heard no noise! Was quiet and relaxing. Loved the convenience of the cabin's location. Also has no issues with the clubs and fun spots being on Deck 5 under us. There was literally no noise. We loved it. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - View was lovely. If you leaned over and looked directly below you, you can see the orange lifeboats attached to the ship, but if you're just looking out at sea, you cannot see it. Nothing obstructed the views. Loved to be port side - we saw the islands as we arrived/left and it was fantastic. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - It was our first cruise so I assume it was normal sized? Was spacious enough for 4 people to stand out there. Had two chairs and a small table. Didn't feel that it was small. Was wind a problem? - No, didn't notice any wind issues. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Cabin was technically aft (the first aft cabin on the deck floorplan) but we had no soot issues. Any specific problems with this cabin? - Nothing in particular. The balcony's paint was peeling a bit but it didn't really bother us. Cabin was spacious and clean. Perfect location - pretty easy walk to everything on the ship. Renoir dining room was nice! Any other comments? - We absolutely loved our first cruise and are HOOKED! Can't wait to go again! Edited August 15, 2018 by ctlrtl add

Florings Posted August 22, 2018 #183 Share Posted August 22, 2018 Ship - Paradise Deck - Empress Stateroom # E63 Stateroom Category 6E Ocean View Starboard or Port Side Starboard Quiet Stateroom? No. Cabin is located a few yards away from the Atrium Bar/Stage where there was live music playing until at least 10-11:00 every night. Also, when shows in the main showroom let out, there was a lot of foot traffic and accompanying noise from the crowds. This was a last minute booking - OV guarantee on a sold out cruise, so no opportunity to change cabins. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? No Balcony View - N/A Balcony Size? N/A Was wind a problem? N/A If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? Accessible cabin, so there was a foldout bench in the shower which took up some much needed space in the small shower, even folded against the wall. Noise, see below. Any other comments? On the plus side, this cabin had a great location. Walk down two sets of steps to the showroom and shops. Walk up one set of steps and around the corner and the front doors to the Lido pool were right there. A quick walk to the buffet and point aft. I would book this location again, but further forward along the hallway so not so close to elevator and to Atrium bar.

We chose to have all the bunks instead of the queen set-up + 2 bunks. The aisle was more critical to our peace than stealing all the blankets from my husband. Any other comments? - it's in a great location, with the buffet four decks above the closest staircase, but its location was wasted on my family. Teej75 Posted August 30, 2018 #186 Share Posted August 30, 2018 Ship - Pride Deck - 8 Stateroom # - 8165 Stateroom Category – 8K Extended Balcony Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Deck 8 is right below the Lido deck and we definitely heard some noise throughout the night and early morning. The nights of the deck parties you can hear the bass until about midnight. You can hear the deck chairs being moved around. Now if you are the type that are out late, it would be less disruptive. I would not recommend if you have kids that still need naps or go to bed at 8PM since the noise is disturbing even through a white noise machine. This was not the noisiest room we have been in but it took some getting used to and definitely was not ideal. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - We enjoyed the extra overhang from Deck 9 that kept us in the shade on sunny days (I know some people complain about this but for us it was a plus). Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - The balcony was great and we had reclining chairs thanks to the extra space out there. Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - Nope Any other comments? - Bed was very comfortable. It had the newer/slimmer TV. For a family of 4 there was more than enough closet/shelf/drawer/bathroom shelf space for a summer cruise. If the weather were colder it might have been a little tighter with more pants/sweaters etc. I was worried about space for clothes from pics but we had enough space in this cabin. They did leave the bunk beds set up the whole time but that also worked for since it was comfier when the kids wanted some downtime to relax. It certainly is an older ship and the fabrics/carpet etc are looking worn, but it was comfortable and clean. Only rated poor due to noise and lack of sleep, which is usually the best of my life on a ship.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. The view was of the front of the ship. We could see the walkway and had to keep our curtains closed at night. During the day, people could see inside so we just dressed in the restroom or by the closets. Balcony Size? It was also very windy walking from 6th floor to 5th and walking from the front of the ship to the back. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -n.a Any specific problems with this cabin? -6203 had a couch, 6201 was same cabin but seemed spacious because it had no couch. Space was sufficient. Any other comments? - love this cabin. Very easy to find and low traffic. We did not need the elevators because you could walk down one flight to 5th floor and then walk around the whole ship. We often walked outside until we got midship, then went inside and caught the elevators. Cabin had 2 outlets on the desk instead of 1 and European. We had a USB plug with multiple outlets but also able to plug in an extension for extra uses. Motion was up and down but if you were in bed, it was side to side rocking the way the beds were made. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – No balcony, but the outside deck on the front of the ship is right outside the door next to the cabin door. Is in addition to the window you have easy access to the outside. And it seemed that only people in the end cabins even went to that area. Balcony Size? It does not have a couch but does have a small table and two chairs. A lot more floor space. This was our first time in a non balcony room and we loved this one! We would definitely stay in this one again. Also, the location was wonderful, especially if you like the spa! There were no obstructions, just clear view of the ocean. The balcony had a very small covering over the top, and it was very hot one day out of the time we were there. The neighbors were very nice and if they leaned over a little, we could talk to each other. Same with the neighbors below us on 7th and 6th floor, no problems, but they would often speak when they were out having a drink or enjoying the view. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - oversized - aft extended view balcony - two recliner chairs and a third upright chair. Plenty of space for maybe about 5 people. Was wind a problem? - Wind was not a problem in this cabin If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No soot, they did say they would clean the balconies and to remove personal items but it never happened. Any specific problems with this cabin? - No problems at all, every now and then you would hear chairs scraping the floor but nothing that was disturbing. Pictures below: This is the best cabin I have ever had on any ship. Any other comments? This was the view of the Galveston terminal as we waited to leave.- My husband enjoying the view - we woke up every day to the view of the wake - very beautiful and relaxing This was the view as we sailed away The view from the balcony at sunset The cabin was made up into a King bed and it had a couch, flat TV, refrigerator, safe with swipe and 1 plug - we bring a USB plug with about 3 other jacks and 4 or 6 USB outlets - but yes, 1 plug at the desk. This is the view as we were parked at the port in Montego Bay, Jamaica. We could hear the music coming from the dock and also hear activities on the lido deck, when standing outside of the cabin. I think we were leaving Cozumel and the HOrizon was leaving around the same time 4

Most balcony's on deck 14 have no roof, but ours one since that it where the serenity deck jetted out a little (was really great). Balcony Size? - Normal size Was wind a problem? - there was nothing stopping the wind since you are at the front of the ship, but I would not say it was a problem. Any other comments? - Was a very nice spa cabin, with the extra bonus of having a little roof. The only issue is there are only 2 elevators that go to deck 12. If you can not take the stairs you will have to wait a very long time to get an elevator. On debarkation morning it took a good 20 min for the elevator to get to us and it was already half full.
