Croptop Posted January 29, 2017 Author #128 Share Posted January 29, 2017 You haven't mentioned the casino--any insight on the names of the casino pit bosses or others there? I usually get to know them pretty well. In fact, my cruise in March is a freebie, thanks to Princess Casinos! I'm not much of a gambler so I don't even set foot in the casinos so I can't really offer much in the way of an opinion on them nor have I met any of the pit bosses. Sorry. Kenosha Cruiser Posted January 29, 2017 #129 Share Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) Croptop, thanks for posting the rest of the Patters. I see one morning Princess had a lecture on pirate life and pirate ports in the Caribbean. By chance did you make this lecture in the Princess Theater? Looking forward to following along again this week, Darlene and I are both enjoying your daily postings. Love your style of writing, you know how to relax and have fun. Cruise Lover Kathy Posted January 29, 2017 #132 Share Posted January 29, 2017 You are an amazing writer! Thanks for giving us all the info we need (boarding on 2-5) and smiles as well. Reading this next week will get me ready for our adventure. I am amazed at the list of available movies! How can I sit on our balcony and watch the oldie Pillow Talk at the same time? Steelers36 Posted January 29, 2017 #133 Share Posted January 29, 2017 BON VOYAGE! There isn't much point in posting these because they are real time and do not stay the way they were when you originally posted the picture.

Croptop Posted January 30, 2017 Author #137 Share Posted January 30, 2017 Hey John ( Crop Top ), Did they offer the fish and chips lunch in the Church hill lounge? I don't recall seeing a fish & chips lunch being offered last week but I wasn't being super attentive for it either. I'll keep an eye peeled for it this week. Seems redundant since the Princess site already does that. Pretty much out of context the next day when reading the thread (or later at night when seeing a totally black picture).

But, yes it gets out of context quickly relative to the posting - it even becomes a totally different cruise. Fine for Keith. However, I'm reading a review of someplace I will probably never be able to get to and what do I see? Not what I would like to. Just a sea scene or a black screen. What I would have appreciated was a static picture of that particular port or location. I can always go to Princess.com and see the bridge cams, but, I don't make it on the site often enough to see the places that I would like to see. Static pictures would be much better. Just sayin'.....:D

Croptop Posted January 30, 2017 Author #145 Share Posted January 30, 2017 Considering the conditions yesterday (cold and rainy all day) and the fact that there were 8 ships in port, the turnaround seemed to go quite smoothly. Port Everglades managed to get rid of all of the departing passengers, bring in all the new ones, resupply a bunch of ships AND keep the power on in all of the terminals. Bravo! Of the 500+ In Transit passengers, fewer than 100 actually went ashore. The rest of us piled into the Princess Theatre and sat for just a little under 45 minutes while we waited for the ship passenger count to zero out. Once that happened, we were all filed out past a couple of Customs agents who looked at our passports and our cruise cards and sent us on our way. We had been instructed to fill out a Customs Declaration card and have it with us but I'm not sure why since the Customs agent didn't even look at it when I filed past. Oh well. I guess I've got my Customs Declaration card filled out and ready for when I disembark at the end of this week. At just a little before 1600hrs, we thrust away from the pier and departed third in line behind Celebrity Silhouette and our sister ship, the Royal Princess and the HAL Koningsdam in our wake. Given the rain and cold, the celebratory sailaway deck party was... er... subdued. And in the Piazza. On the bright side, if you wanted a lounge chair by the pool, you could take your pick! When the PES lounge opened at 1700hrs it quickly filled to standing room only. Honestly, I have never seen a PES lounge that packed before. Either there are a lot of Platinums and Elite on board for this sailing or everyone just wanted to hang out in the lounge because of the rain. Per my promise, I opted to be sociable and dine with others so I gamely allowed myself to be seated at an 8-top and ended up having a nice dinner with six other people. The menu was the same as the sailaway menu from last week but I'm the type of guy who cooks a flat of chicken breasts and makes a pot of rice and then has the same meal each night of the week so a 7-day rotation on the dinner menu doesn't bother me in the slightest bit. Given the conditions, I assumed that the welcome aboard show would be extremely well attended so I opted to stay way from the public venues for the evening and just retired to my cabin to watch a movie or two and doze. Coming up next: A beach day at Princess Cays... maybe

Kenosha Cruiser Posted January 30, 2017 #147 Share Posted January 30, 2017 John (Croptop), you mentioned that a 100 passengers staying on for the second week with you left the ship to do stuff. Since these folks didn't sit in the Princess Theater with you to be cleared with customs, did they have to go through the regular procedure of checking in with the new passengers arriving? This back to back thing will be new for us and we were thinking about walking off the ship once we arrive back to Ft. Lauderdale. Glad to see you met some nice folks in the dinning room, did you mention to them that you were doing a live thread on cruise critic? Hope the weather is nice for you at Princess Cays. Cheers - Ken & Darlene
Mike_DeA Posted January 30, 2017 #148 Share Posted January 30, 2017 Loving your review. We board on Mar 19 with 4 friends, all cruise newbies. Fortunately we were on Regal last August in the Baltic so we will he good cruise guides. Lucky enough to have had dinner with Commodore Romano. He is delightful. Also happy to see the Polonia Quartet still playing--they are excellent. You haven't mentioned the casino--any insight on the names of the casino pit bosses or others there? I usually get to know them pretty well. In fact, my cruise in March is a freebie, thanks to Princess Casinos! Thanks! Cheers - Ken & Darlene When we were on the Regal B2B, they continued to page passengers to the theatre. They did a good job rounding everyone up. No B2B passenger leave the ship before it is completed. It was a very quick process. We lined up by rows as they started with the front row and checked our documents before we exited. We were in and out in 30 minutes. You can then go directly to the gang way and leave the ship. Princess had this down to a science. Looking forward to your review!
