Attire for "Formal Evenings"

Many people wear tux and ball gowns, some business suits and cocktail dresses, some wear blazers and pants suits but usually no jeans, shorts or capris.

I just want to be comfortable.

We have sailed Celebrity many times, and in the past, I have worn a long dress, and DH wore a tux. Now, on the first "elegant" night, I will wear a cocktail dress and DH will wear a suit and tie. on the 2nd elegant night (I assume there will be 2) DH will wear a sport coat, slacks, and collared dress shirt, and I will wear a nice dress.

It really depends on what you like to do. We enjoy dressing for dinner. So we usually do "Country Club Casual:" Sundresses, skirts and tops, and khakis and polo shirts or Tommy Bahama shirts for DH. You will see all different kinds of dress. Wear what you are comfortable with.... after all, it is your vacation. :)

Nice clothes are fine. None of the mainstream lines require "formalwear" anymore. You don't need a tux or gown...but if you WANT to, it's fine! Up to you!

On Cunard formal is still formal with black tie and long/short evening dresses, especially on transatlantic crossings. Those ships are ideal for those who want the traditional formality and evening elegance. But not for those who prefer keep their vacation casual.
