WYTinman Posted January 27, 2017 Author #77 Share Posted January 27, 2017 All in All, Maya Key was a good excursion. Food was included and very good. Drinks were not included. I didn't imbibe because I was swimming. My wife had Sangria and thought it was good. It was relaxing. The zoo and "Mayan Cultural Center" (Fake Temples) added to the expeirence. The reef is an easy snorkel and it is very nice. We just didn't have an ideal day for it. Here is a fun Timelapse of the Tenders and the Pool when we returned. pmcglothen Posted January 27, 2017 #79 Share Posted January 27, 2017 Great Review so far...we will be on the sailing departing on 2/5/17 and we have also booked this excursion thru NCL...Did you see the pool there or use it? That is the reason we booked this excursion. My sister in law and mother in law are not able to walk on the sand or get in the ocean very easily. Thanks for all the great information!! CJDepew Posted January 27, 2017 #80 Share Posted January 27, 2017 Thank you for the video and photos. They're wonderful. Thinking of booking the Dawn for Feb 2018 with the same itinerary. Especially loved the Mr. Sancho's pics. We were there last year and it was one awesome day.

That is the reason we booked this excursion. My sister in law and mother in law are not able to walk on the sand or get in the ocean very easily. Thanks for all the great information!! Patti Sorry Patti, I didn't get over to the pool. For that matter I didn't even see it. Looking at the map below, it is behind the gift shop. If you watch my video of when we arrive on the island. We walk beside the gift shop then go uphill toward the Bar. That should be the only hard part of the walk to the pool. It appears to be attached to the Bar by a deck. The sand on the Beach is very compacted and should not be too difficult. The difficult part is going up the hill and then down to the beach. I hope this helps Mark
slhopper Posted January 27, 2017 #82 Share Posted January 27, 2017 Beaches - parte dos Roatán Honduras Point 2. Tendering for the excursions was so poorly organized and executed that I know people that went to the excursion desk and cancelled while waiting to be called for a tender. We were on this cruise too, and that tender was a CLUSTER! People waited (as they were told) in Bliss for tender tickets, then within about 1 minute of them starting to hand out tickets, they announced group 1 was able to depart, and then almost instantly called for open tendering! Caused a huge rush from Bliss, and many frustrated/angry people that had waited where they were told so they could be early off, only to be pushed to the back by an open call. That was honestly my only complaint about the entire cruise :) Alain is awesome, Bob and I had fun joking about all the reasons we were never going to sail NCL again (as Alain said he got hate mail that people were so mad about the art in Venetian that they would never sail NCL again) Great review of a wonderful cruise. WYTinman Posted January 28, 2017 Author #86 Share Posted January 28, 2017 I'm Back after a much longer delay than I expected. Here is a video of the walk from the ship onto the island. The carts that run back and forth on the pier are for everyone. If you think the walk will be to much for you, just wait a few minutes, a cart will be by shortly. OF COURSE WE HAD A BEACH "VILLA" Villa Check-in The Back Road Tour to the Cabana. (Warning This Video is Long. WYTinman Posted January 28, 2017 Author #90 Share Posted January 28, 2017 (edited) Now a few short words about the Cabanas. Beautiful. Worth the Money? Up to you. It's nice to have a central place to come back to. Air conditioning is nice, but there are free places on the island with A/C Service from the dedicated server is excellent. I spent more time walking around shooting photos than I did at the Cabana Would I rent one again? Probably. AKR2011 Posted January 28, 2017 #92 Share Posted January 28, 2017 That spicy margarita was one of our favorite drinks on the ship! And you are totally right about those apps. I hope they expand Los Lobos to other ships. It was by far our best meal on board.
