Help me pick a beach

I am looking for a beach with:

* smooth sand (not rocky)

* clear water

* smooth ocean floor

* chairs

* shade

* restaurant

* bathrooms

I have a serious phobia of the ocean, will only go in the water as far as I can still see my feet. (I know, call me weird). Absolutely loved the beach in Grand Cayman, first time I swam underwater in 30 years. Anything similar in Roatan??

TIA!!!

That would be West Bay Beach. Cruise lines have the excursion to West Bay Beach that goes to their Tabyana Beach resort. Beautiful part of the beach. Get to see beautiful fish around there and the water is very clear. You can also get with Bananarama on West Bay and they offer roundtrip transportation.

Is West bay beach a public beach? Can you just take a cab from the port to the beach? We have been to Roatan before but went to Little French Key. I think we want to try to keep cost down a little bit on this trip.

Yes, West Bay is public. Potties, showers, loungers, food are all payable.

Taxi prices are not regulated, it is all about the haggle. the good news is Bananarama and Beacher's both offer day passes with transport included.

There are several other daypass possibilities without transport.

Anything at West Bay is fine, and you could see your feet on the bottom if you were 50 feet tall and standing on the bottom. The bottom in this picture is at least 25 feet. This was taken off the West Bay beaches.
