and this has become something of a local argument

 

locally the airport has started referring to itself as Orlando Melbourne International and the Orlando Airport folks are all up in arms. However they have NO problem with Orlando Sanford International .....

I grew up in Titusville, so I know. I remember when Space Coast Airport was TiCo, Sanford was still a Navy base and seeing B-52s on the ramp at McCoy. I just don't remember ever seeing Port Canaveral ever being called "Port Orlando"
