Exactly where is this since orlando is not next to water?

It's in Port Canaveral in Brevard County, about 45 minutes east of the airport.

at least one cruise line lists it that way

 

and this has become something of a local argument

 

locally the airport has started referring to itself as Orlando Melbourne International and the Orlando Airport folks are all up in arms. However they have NO problem with Orlando Sanford International .....

Port Canaveral is just near the Kennedy Space Center. It's a fabulous place to visit if you haven't been to this area of Florida before.

I grew up in Titusville, so I know. I remember when Space Coast Airport was TiCo, Sanford was still a Navy base and seeing B-52s on the ramp at McCoy. I just don't remember ever seeing Port Canaveral ever being called "Port Orlando"
