No I didn't mean to put my debit card on my account. I meant in a medical emergency etc.

I would never put my debit card on the account.

Why do so many people feel it's so safe to give others access to their personal checking accounts?

I travel with a credit card that has a $30,000

Line of credit

THAT is what I would use for a medical emergency

Plus all smart travelers have travel medical insurance that will reimburse them

Smh as to why anyone would ever pay for medical treatment with a debit card

Instead of standing in line at guest services throw money into a slot machine and upload to your account. The system works both ways, downloads & uploads.

Unfortunately that requires entering the casino and spending at minimum 5 minutes there especially if one isn't familiar with the casino and would need assistance with this method

A 15 second walk thru is the maximum exposure to the casino smoke I can deal with

I would like to hear the reason people like to use cash.

To me using cash had so many disadvantages. I only carry enough cash to tip and that's it and even tips I like to keep on credit cards. I either can miles, points or cash back. If lost, stolen or have fraudulent transactions I lose nothing.

If I lose cash, it get stolen or the like I am out. I don't get any of the extras either and lastly I lose interest on the cash that can sit in an interest account until credit card bill is do.

I also don't understand the need to only use cash. I have a MC and a Visa with about $35,000 credit line. Pay off bill each month. Due to points earned I have garnered hotel stays, airfare tickets and gift cards. Paying in cash for big purchases gets me nothing. Now while port I always use cash with locals.

Just curious, if you are OK with how you handle your finances, why do you care how others handles theirs??

Pretty sure if you pay your account off and a late charge comes up (mini bar or missing towel, etc) they will send you a bill that you are equally on the hook for as you would be if a credit card was used. In fact, possibly worse if it pops up before you leave the ship. Have heard of them detaining people with an outstanding balance when they try to leave the ship. I prefer using a cc, can always dispute the charge after the fact if need be.

True if you are using mini bar or lose your towel. But you would know if you did or didn't while closing your account on disembarkation. I barely spend anything on board. I usually book cruises with drink package included or pre-paying them beforehand. Same for daily service charges. While onboard I use free facilities and only ocassionally would buy something in the shop, but then I make sure I have enough cash. I don't spend money on spa etc.

I've used my credit card once for OBC and was hit with $12 post cruise charge for a couple of cans of coke from mini bar. The thing is mini bar was emptied by a cabin steward at embarkation upon our request, so not sure where I took those cans from  Anyway, I live in Europe and calling Miami disputing some post cruise charges will probably cost me more.
