Miami hotel

Hello,

 

We are staying in Miami for 3 days prior to our cruise. We are looking at booking around the airport since its much more affordable than downtown. Has anyone stayed by the airport for this long? Did you have a lot of flight noise in your room?

Is it worth the extra cost to stay down by bayside marketplace to be in the midst of everything?

For three days I would consider staying in downtown Miami.

 

Consider what you will do staying at the airport and how you will get to and from other areas.

 

Lots of choice in downtown Miami.

 

Take a look at the Hampton Inn to see if that might work for you. It does include a nice breakfast.

Taxi from airport hotels to downtown will cost you about $30 each way -- are you saving enough to drop $60 per day in cab fare (closer to $40 if you use UberX)

 

I would stay either downtown or in Miami Beach or someplace fun (Hollywood, etc.) where there is dining/nightlife/shopping within walking distance.

 

If you choose to stay near the MIA airport you can use the hotel shuttle to get to MIA and from there use the Airport Flyer bus to visit Miami Beach for about $3 per person each way

Totally agree with the others. Don't stay out there.:eek: There are many opportunities for tours and choices for meals and activity if you stay where things are in walking distance or a quick trolley or metro mover away.

 

Too from downtown you can zip over to Miami Beach/South Beach for the day/evening. A must if you haven't been and have all this time.

 

There's absolutely no way staying in a generic chain listening to airplanes will add to your vacation... Unless you want to rent a car and then fight/pay for parking as you head out to get anywhere" else each day.

Unless you are renting a car (extra cost) staying by the airport will add cost to traveling back and forth. There is nothing by the airport other than the airport, hotels and dolphin mall. Staying in Downtown/Brickell or Miami Beach is well worth the extra cost. You won't need to rent a car (less expenses) and/or won't need to take taxi/uber around as much.

If you want to be near many choices downtown is the answer.
