Informal Vow Renewal Question

Hello,

 

My husband and I will be sailing on the Dawn in May for our 25th anniversary, I have looked it to the vow renewal package and can't see spending $500 for the ceremony. Since it is not a legal ceremony we had thought about seeing if someone on the ship would take 5 minutes out to officiate (I will print up a small script, just a small paragraph). Has anyone done this before or knows someone who has??

Just an idea..... attend the Cruise Critic Meet & Greet where all the senior officers attend including the Captain..... during the Q&A, just ask if they will do it right there on the spot.... as long as it's only 5 minutes. They may say no but worth a shot since there are no frills.

Ask someone on your roll call to do this for you. I would gladly do it if I were on your ship and I'm sure there will be others who would not mind helping you out.

Consider a ceremony at your port of call?

For example a pastor or a minister? Or whatever religion you favour? In a local church - or on the beach?

Look to ports of call as opposed to on the ship itself?
