Cruisin' Music

My husband and I are going on a cruise this May to the Mexican Riviera. This is the first time (after 7 cruises) we've had music downloadable and a portable speaker to bring with us. Looking for good songs and artists to download for a "cruise playlist" to listen to in our room and on our balcony (at an appropriate volume ;)). And as much as I'd like to take my husbands advice of all Jimmy Buffet all the time, I think we need a little more variety. We enjoy most genres.

Thanks!!!

"Kokomo" by the Beach Boys. "Toes" by Zac Brown Band. "Cruisin'" by Coolio. (Ok, that last one isn't exactly talking about an actual cruise, but still. Lol

Yes! Thank you, I need Kokomo! I just downloaded "Toes" today that's what made me think about a cruise playlist. I've never heard "Cruisin'" but going to listen (and probably download) now, gotta love Coolio :')

I agree with all of this as most of these are on my playlist, but mine include lots of Bob Marley, Stephen Marley, Ziggy Marley, and several Steel Drum only (instrumental) playlists.

Thanks to the OP for starting this thread. It helped me update my playlist for our upcoming cruise. :D

Nice playlist you got there SeeJennyCruis.

Love Beyond the Sea, Summer wind and Southern Cross.

Love this music!

Love Boat thyme form the 70's TV show. I always play it as we sail away sitting on our balcony.

I never thought to do this. Thank you for sharing! I've added to my playlist. I'll play this year on Carnival and next year when we sail on Princess :D

Nothing feels more odd than hearing steel drums in the Port of Long Beach. Mariachi Music would be a better choice.

Tequila - The Champs

Spanish Flea - Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.

Hotel California - Eagles

Good point. I used a different list when sailing out of Southampton. We're sailing out of Long Bean next year. I grew up with Herb Albert. Thanks!

One of my favourite cruise experiences is watching a beautiful sunset and listening to "Slip into something more comfortable" by Kinobe.

Ben.

That was a new one for me. I had to look it up and found all the different mixes to the tune. I went with the Stephen Hague remix

If he likes Jimmy, give Kenny Chesney's "Life on a Rock" album a listen. I think it has an islands/tropics vibe. Clearly you need some Bob Marley on the list. I'd suggest the remastered "Legend" album. Enjoy.
