Petitbotcottage Posted March 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2017 How cold is it on Epic? We're going Saturday. If you mean inside the cabin, it is not cold at all. If you mean in the restaurants, also not cold. If you mean on the balcony (if you have one),or on deck it depends on the weather and where you are sailing. tampadee Posted March 12, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted March 12, 2017 I've been on ships in the past that are generally very cold. Just wondering about Epic.
Eleteace Posted March 12, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2017 I thought that it was pretty cold in the restaurants and things, definitely needed a cardigan. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Forums
DMH15 Posted March 12, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 12, 2017 We got off on 3/4. The 3 of us felt the common areas were just right. I generally pack one neutral light cardigan just in case. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
NCLfamily Posted March 12, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 12, 2017 The Antarctic cruises tend to be cold in winter and the Caribbean cruises warm in summer. Sent from my iPad using Forums
WeBeCruisers? Posted March 12, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 12, 2017 It's all relative, if you're cold normally then it will be cold if you're warm then you will be burning up. Almost has no bearing on Antarctic or the Caribbean if the air conditioning is on it can be cold or it can be warm just depends on your body. Dress accordingly. Rare BirdTravels Posted March 12, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 12, 2017 The Antarctic cruises tend to be cold in winter and the Caribbean cruises warm in summer. Actually, Caribbean cruises tend to make ships colder. The HVAC systems have to dump massive amounts of cold air into the ship's interior to keep it at a "cool" state. It tends to cause a lot of "cold spots" in public areas.
Love.II.Cruise Posted March 12, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 12, 2017 Bring something extra "just in case." There were times I was fine and times I was cold (on the same cruise).
sunny2runner Posted March 12, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 12, 2017 We were on the Epic in December. The public spaces seemed to be just about right. Neither warm or cold. We went to the gym on afternoon and something was off with the temp control on that side of the ship. It was very humid and warm in the gym and in the hallways leading into that space. I don't know it was just a freak issue or a common occurrence. Our cabin temp was a different story. It was overly warm most of the time. Most nights were uncomfortably warm. We notified customer service several times and nothing was done or could be done. We have sailed 12 other times with Disney and Fathom and never experience temp control issues in our room. When sailing NCL, I will definitely bring a fan for the room.
