Blankcanvas Posted March 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2017 Didn't snorkle but can tell you that last week clamshell rental was $39 when booked onboard at the Excursions Desk. I totally recommend booking onboard as it counts as an excursion so you get priority tender. The itinerary for GSC was 10am-6pm but we went to the meeting point (Headliners Club on the Breakaway) around 9.30am and were escorted to onto the very first tender. We were set up in our clamshell on the furthest beach by 10am.

ClevelandCruisin Posted March 17, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 17, 2017 Probably around $30. Make sure you get one with mesh in the back of it, They get very hot inside without the wind coming through!
Rare BirdTravels Posted March 17, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 17, 2017 Probably around $30.Make sure you get one with mesh in the back of it, They get very hot inside without the wind coming through! Front left bad (solid canvas) you will end up being a cooked clam. Second row left good (vent panel in rear) The island offers little to no shade. The sun is brutal any time of the year. On Mega Ships, the clamshells will sell out before you get to the island, so book early. $30. The easiest way is via any of the touch screen kiosk in the public areas on the ship. Once you get to the island, the clam shell attendant must set up a shell for you. Make sure you see that vent panel, else move to another shell. BabysBday Posted March 17, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 17, 2017 There are also clamshells on the first beach, close to the vendors, the Patron bar and the tender dock. Lots of folks were snorkeling further out in the waters there near the rocks and there is even an additional lifeguard out on the rock jetty to keep an eye on them.
