Anyone Recently On Paradise

A bit concerned about our upcoming Paradise Cruise in May based off the letter we got mentioning technical problems and changing our itinerary to accommodate the lack of propulsion power. Just read the recent reviews and they are all 1 star and complained of how rough the ride was due to an engine being out and the lack of power etc...Anyone else concerned or has anyone cruised on her in the past few weeks and have some feedback?

Thanks and happy cruising.

Just got off the Paradise on Saturday. Didn't notice any vibration or rough conditions. Actually was a very smooth cruise. Top speed I saw was about 17knots but usually around 14-16. Ship is old and definitely should have been in dry dock a while ago for the outside as everything is getting pretty old. Inside the ship everything still looks good, just dated. Service was very good, much better than on the Vista last month. This was a spring break cruise so lot of the college age crowd but never got too rowdy or anything. Was a fun cruise.

I just got off the Paradise today. I didn't notice any rough conditions at all. We made all ports (Cozumel and Costa Maya) and there was no lack of power or anything. Everyone on board was super helpful and nice. I would definitely sail on her again!

We are cruising on the Paradise on May 22nd. I received a letter form Carnival a few weeks ago that said due to technical difficulties that we would be going to Grand Caymans we would be going to Coasta Maya instead.

No Movies outside. Paradise is going into Dry dock in 2018. We are on May 8th. We were on in Feb. for Super Bowl and had such a good time we booked the May cruise right away. It's an older ship and a bit outdated but the crew and service is awesome. We find the smaller ships much easier to get around and find that staff tend to remember you.

My gardener got off of her three weeks ago, said they did have propulsion problems and missed a port too. He was not happy at all with the Paradise said she is older and shown her age, although he was somewhat disappointed in the ship, he is right, any cruise is better than no cruise....he had a suite which made it better for him, he said the grill closed at 6pm and he would not cruise on Carnival for awhile, he wants to go to RC.

I'm booked for June 10th and the itinerary includes Costa Maya instead of Grand Cayman along with Cozumel, so maybe the propulsion problem isn't going to be fixed by then? No problem for me, I've been to both parts numerous times and this will be my 20th cruise on CCL.

I was on the Paradise last fall and I had a great time. It was the first time in many years that I was on one of the smaller ships and I was a bit concerned about the lack of bells & whistles. I actually enjoyed the smaller crowds and smaller ship - of course a lot of my sea time is spent in the casino (lol). The food in the dining room was also good to very good. The interior cabins are also much larger than those on the newer ships.

I know the crowd will be a lot different in June (lots of little kiddies I'm sure), so I'm not expecting the same quiet crowd. I really did like the ship!!

DH and I are sailing on May 22nd, but have not received a letter regarding itinerary change as did previous poster Kyboymom. Don't really care one way or the other.

I would be glad to email you the letter if you would like.

Change your ship if you can. Stay away from that boat. The people that got off on Sunday 4/2 were without toilets. Carnival knows about issues with this ship. You will only get port fees refunded if ports are missed. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND FIND A DIFFERENT SHIP OR CRUISE LINE.
