My Oasis Star Class Experience (3/12-3/19)

Recommended Posts

I'm loving these comments but feeling very sad that I'm a lowly grand suite/sky class! Normally on other class ships the suites are all treated the same, but watching the star class float by me will be hard! And make me book UP next time! Anyway, question for you--I have three kids as well but was told the Aqua Theater doesn't hold 5 people? Which room is your room for your 3 kids? I tried to upgrade for a month after we booked but everyone we talked to said our issue was the 5 people which seems crazy since the other rooms are so much bigger than our Grand Suite. Argh!! Anyway, thanks, sailing on Oasis in 2 weeks!!

We are in a 2 bedroom aqua suite, our 3 will sleep in 2nd bedroom and I believe there is a pull out which will not use. 2 bedroom aqua are star class, not the 1 bedroom. Also, I believe that will change next year and they are dropping 2 bedroom aqua from star class.

[Yes we are on the April 9th sailing! So excited. But need to look into more space for our next trip. I love the suite perks but these Star perks sound amazing. I didn't even price out the bigger rooms--our TA knows we fit in a Grand so just puts us there. I wonder what the actual price difference is to have some more space. I'll have to check on board for a future sailing. Thanks, All.

We have a 2 bed aqua reserved on symphony in feb 2019 - was wondering - did you tip the genie?

There are a few threads on this, if you google for cc threads. Some people tip per person, some based on services. I think the average amount for a week was around $300-500 but of course it will vary.

I can tell you that the prices for the 2 BR ATS are absolutely skyrocketing !!

My first 2 BR ATS (8330 on Harmony Feb 2017) was base priced at $5549 PP (prior to any discounts).

My second 2 BR ATS (9730 on Harmony Sept. 2017) is $5713 PP

The price on my third 2 BR ATS (8330 on Harmony for Feb 2019) is $9998 PP

That is almost double what I paid earlier this year. I think the popularity of these rooms combined with the Star Class perks has made them valuable and Royal seems to be pricing them to a level where they are going to see how high they can go before they see a drop in demand.

I generally receive a very good casino rate discount (so far at least) so they are still within reach but I don't know where this tops out. Much higher and they will be too pricey for me !!!

I cruise solo - Sky Loft (well, now "Star Loft"). For Sept 2018 - it's gone up by 50% over what I paid for the 2017 (and March 2018) cruises. It was quite a bit of sticker shock to have to fork that much more over. Let's hope the service continues like what I just experienced (which was amazing).

Can anyone tell me how to put the Loop App on my iPhone to make it easy to access? I initially went through the link in the email. Help!!

Try going to the iTunes App Store and doing a search.

"Haven't heard anything from our Genie except for our questionnaire a few weeks ago. Sailing in 10 days so guess no cabana for us. Oh well, I'm sure it will be a wonderful cruise without it. Can't wait as we have sailed in 2BR ATS before but before Star Class"

We have been to Labadee 3 times now, and always reserve OW1... In the past we were sailing in Crown Loft Suites and emailed the concierges, requesting that particular cabana. They usually answered that request the week before our cruise. This last time was our first time in Star Class, so when the Genie sent us the questionnaire we added a note at the bottom requesting OW1. She never acknowledged it until...once again...the last week before the cruise and was able to get it for us.

I don't think they make reservations on those cabanas until one or two weeks prior to your sailing. OTHER PEOPLES EXPERIENCES MAY VARY....but that's what has happened to us so far.

I downloaded the Loop to my phone by opening the email on my iPhone and clicking the link there. It is not truly an app. It's more like a website. Doesn't really work well. Our genie just had us call her on the phone. Memorize your Genie's extension and you can call him/her from any ship phone.
