jt58203 Posted March 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2017 Is there a quick way to see Mariner Society pricing on HAL's website? Two days ago I saw an attractive [Mariner Society] price for an April 2018 cruise by accident. I found a cruise/itinerary I liked. Actually the price was ok (especially being 13 months out) and I wanted to see cabin availability. I put my Mariner Society Number in and it showed the regular interior price, the diagram of the ship (aft, mid, forward). Then I click on stateroom type where all the options show up (interior, oceanview, verandah, suite) and to my surprise the special pricing came up. I do get occasional emails and lots of snail mail flyers from HAL but I didn't know about any discounts on the cruise/itinerary I found. I research cruises looking at other websites and the special pricing did come up on one site, but even through that I can't just see an entire list of Mariner Society discounted cruises there either. Sequim88 Posted March 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2017 Do you have a HAL PCC? I would be surprised if I called or emailed ours and asked what Mariner specials are being offered or if there is Mariner pricing on a particular sailing and she could not answer the question. On the other hand I've never heard of it other than mailings and emails maybe mentioning a Mariner deal. But I would not expect too much of a deal and even more likely not combinable with other promos likes Explore 4.
SilvertoGold Posted March 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 22, 2017 First, it appears that different Mariner levels get different pricing on select cruises, at select times. I have found that I just have to look at everything that I am remotely interested in to find out if there is a price out there that I like, at any given time. If you find a better way, please share! chrisbu315 Posted March 24, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 24, 2017 I recently went on the HAL site to look at prices. I logged in with my username and password. After I selected my cruise and cabin I clicked "Book Now" then "Next: Stateroom", I saw prices far lower than what appeared on the prior page. I tried with with several other cruises and cabins and got similar results. I then called HAL to ask if this was a mistake. I was told that the price I saw after I clicked "Book Now" and "Next: Stateroom" took into account some of the discounts I was entitled to. He then went on to offer me another big discount because I was on a Carnival list of casino players. This was another pleasant surprise. His advice to me was to use the website to select the cruise and cabin I want then call to get the best price. I then contacted another CCer with the same Mariner status as me and we compared prices on the HAL site for the same cruises and cabins. My prices were consistently less. My guess is HAL is doing a lot of targeted pricing based on Mariner status, spending habits, booking sources (direct versus TA) etc.
Krazy Kruizers Posted March 24, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 24, 2017 Sadly there isn't a way to see all HAL's Mariner pricing -- I am still waiting to get one. We have had our TA call many times over the years to see what deals are available for us. A couple of times on Collector Cruises we got about 2% off the cruise fare. Sundagger Posted March 25, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 25, 2017 One thing to be cautious of with surprisingly low fares is the fact that many of those are *non-refundable*. That seems to be a new trend in HAL pricing. Be sure to read the fine print.

wbrumel Posted March 25, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 25, 2017 Buy "cancel for any reason" trip insurance and book the low non-refundable fare.
chrisbu315 Posted March 25, 2017 #11 Share Posted March 25, 2017 Buy "cancel for any reason" trip insurance and book the low non-refundable fare. Great idea. I am such a sucker for a low price I don't bother to look at the small print or ask questions. So far, I've had no reason to cancel, but that streak won't last forever.
