bmetz34 Posted April 2, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 2, 2017 I've only ever done a massage. I would suggest telling them upfront if you're not interested in purchasing skin care items. It totally killed my zen when I got the sales pitch after. Esp when they were telling my about my dry/oily skin in front of my husband bc it was a couples massage. There went the romance! nhsails Posted April 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 2, 2017 Body scrub last day is mandatory for me. Been doing it for nearly 30 years of cruising and they just get better. Sometimes we do couples massage, depends on how hub's casino tour is going
Out of Iowa Posted April 2, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 2, 2017 I won the free day pass to the spa area after the tour, in the drawing held in the gym area. I went and loved those heated, tiled loungers. I found the Thelasso pool a bit cold (as the hot tubs and main pool are frequently, it seems) and not my thing. Give me a massage or facial anytime! The relaxation area with lemon-water and chairs looking out to see were also very, very relaxing.
Rare Essiesmom Posted April 2, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 2, 2017 My only visit to the spa was for my first experience with acupuncture. It helped my shoulder pain from arthritis so much that I have had two more treatments since I got home. Another one coming up Thursday. EM
cruisinqt Posted April 2, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 2, 2017 I've tried several massages but I really prefer the hot stone massage. It's a deep tissue massage that really relaxes the muscles. They usually have a sale on it midweek. My daughters really like the facials and deep conditioning treatments for their long hair. It gets kind of dry from being in salt water and then out in the hot sun so much during the cruises.
oxymoron11 Posted April 3, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 3, 2017 My husband and I enjoyed the spa pass on the Magic. It was a nice daily escape. Try to book a cabin in the mid to forward area if you don't want a long walk every day (or twice a day). The thalassotherapy pool was great, jets, wave action! Heated loungers were in two areas. I usually make my spa appointments pre-cruise and make use of the 10-20-30 percent discount. If you schedule on port days there is quite a savings. If there is better pricing when you are on the ship you can cancel and re-schedule. My favorite treatments are the quartz or tri-enzyme facials, (the Elemis facials work better on me) the hot stone massage or the salt and lime massage, and the Keratin hair treatment. My hairdresser at home moved on so I got a haircut on my last cruise. I was a bit nervous but it's hair, it grows. I loved it!! It is also nice to have your hair washed and blown out in the salon instead of doing it yourself in your cabin.
Athankfulheart Posted April 3, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 3, 2017 Our family loves the spa pass. Sailing on Breeze in May and already have ours reserved. I have had massages and they are average. spleenstomper Posted April 3, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 3, 2017 Is there a hard sell on products? I wouldn't mind buying something but I am allergic to everything!
cruisinqt Posted April 4, 2017 #11 Share Posted April 4, 2017 Is there a hard sell on products? I wouldn't mind buying something but I am allergic to everything! They really push their products. But if you tell them flat out you're not buying anything they back off.

courtcole0902 Posted April 4, 2017 #13 Share Posted April 4, 2017 My husband and I enjoyed the couples massage on the Breeze. I recommend at the minimum a one day pass to the Cloud 9 spa as well.

eileenfa Posted April 4, 2017 #15 Share Posted April 4, 2017 I would get the spa pass. I've been getting a spa room for my last 2 cruises. It's great. U can go into the Thalassotherapy pool as much as u want, go to heated lounge. We did the couple message. Plus there's there's the steam rooms and aromatherapy rooms. auscgguysgirl Posted April 4, 2017 #18 Share Posted April 4, 2017 We pretty much live in the spa on every boat. We do couples massages on every sea day. I prefer the regular swedish massage, hubby prefers hot stones. Deep tissue or bamboo are really rough and too strong for both of us. Our last cruise on the Ecstasy we did the Ginger Salt & Lime Glo couples massage. It was fabulous ... slightly awkward, but amazing. They offer it on our cruise in 2 weeks on the Sunshine, but not as a couples massage ... we're going to ask if they will adjust the massage to accommodate that. We usually stay in a spa suite, so the spa amenities are included ... love the thelossatherapy pool (not one on the Sunshine) ... sauna, etc. You have to try them all at least once. We've done pedicures, etc ... but they are the same as a pedicure at home and 3x the price ... so I just do that before we leave.
