No more adult only aft pools?

Spirit Class are my favorites - especially the Pride. I don't like the mega ships.

I agree. My first was the Miracle when she sailed from New York. I was sorry to see her go to the west coast. Now, I have to drive further to sail on the Pride.

Exactly. Free airfare when you're paying $3k a person for a 7 night cruise simply means the airfare was included in the price. The company did not eat the cost of the airfare.

The price includes a lot more than just airfare. It also includes Wifi, beer & wine with lunch & dinner (champagne for mimosas at breakfast), 1 shore excursion in each port, specialty restaurants, specialty coffee & tea 24/7, full room service and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Oh free self service laundry.

Also ALL cabins are Veranda cabins.

We were extremely happy with our river cruise & we're booked on an 11 day Caribbean cruise.

You can't really compare Carnival with Viking. I'm not saying that - just that there are other options and this is one that very much appeals to us.

We did the river cruise and were totally satisfied. One cruise gets you into their Explorer Society and that gets you $200 pp off the next cruise if you book within a year & $100pp after that. Every one gets the past guest cocktail party after just 1 cruise. And you get $100 referral bonus if you recommend Viking to a friend and they get $100 off also.

It's the old case of you get what you pay for. It's for sure not for everyone but I think it's going to work for us

We will probably still cruise Carnival as long as the Pride is in Baltimore as we really like that ship with its Serenity Deck pool [emoji41]

Since kids are full fare on carnival maybe they should demand a kids only pool! Seriously though, if you don't wanna be around kids why would you ever want to go on a family friendly cruise line anyway? I personally enjoy seeing my kids(and others) having a good time. We have been on just a couple of cruises but I never noticed any problems caused by any age children. Saw some drunk @&*^%'s in the casino and bars, but not problem from the kids.

Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Celebrity, Princess, Disney are all family friendly cruise lines...some to a higher degree than others...what do they all have in common? The majority of the ships in their fleet have an adults only pool.

And keep wearing those rose colored glasses that don't seem to notice the children with snorkel gear in the hot tubs, yelling at their mommy for permission to do something, screaming Marco Polo and basically running rampant all over the ship unsupervised. Parents once again taking vacation from parenting. But you've never seen these things occur on the couple of cruises you've been on.

We have called our PVP and confirmed that this is the new policy. We asked that they pass on the disappointment about the change.

About kids...the disappointment really has nothing to with liking or disliking kids. Kids swim, kick splash, and jump in the pools. Adults most of the time stand around and chat. This is not a judgement of kids. It's just that adults and kids use pools differently. If it were possible to have a "no splashing" pool with kids, that would work too. That would be unrealistic though. I don't know why this is not understood by Carnival.

In a few years your children will grow up & then you will be like us (parents with grown children) & you will want a quite adult place to hang out also. The generation after you with their little families will say......Just Deal With It.....circle of life

Well said. This is also how I feel about the situation. Also dont understand why some of the defensive parents are being nasty to posters here who feel this way. Its not that we dont like kids, but that we just prefer to keep our adult only pool, and no body said there was a problem with kids being in the area, just please let them keep the pool adult only.

You have to remember, those perks only mean something if they hold value to the customer. Such as "free" alcohol. I don't drink so that perk means nothing to me. Don't drink coffee either so there goes another perk. Spend very little time in my cabin so having a balcony is just another waste. All I'm saying is that all of the perks you listed are not free, they are simply pre-paid. If someone doesn't use those perks then they are paying a much higher price for the cruise.

Tipping wait staff? I know tips are included, in fare, but does anyone tip the waitstaff, or cabin steward? We have had such great service, I think the service providers deserve acknowledgement.

Then they cruise with another cruise line. And I said they were included not free. Viking offers things of value for ME. it's clearly not for everyone and I'm not trying to convince anyone that it is. I'm merely offering information.

Because a lot of people where being nasty about it and insulting children. Her response was very pleasant and understandable. Unlike others on this post who couple there opinion with hate and nastyness towards children who are only playing where they are allowed

Do you think there's a possibility that grandmom was sipping on a little vino and got confused?

If not liking to be cannonballed by a 10 year old or hit in the head with a nerf football is considered "Hate and nastyness", so be it.

BTW, can you leave your name calling on the playground where it belongs? ;p

I demand an adults only miniature golf course!! I want to be able to concentrate and not be distracted by some loud kid celebrating a hole-in-one.

What about the waterslides. I love waterslides but it's embarrassing being the only adult in a long line of children. Adults only waterslides!!! LOL

I work in the education sector and while I love kids my vacation time is designed to have as much adult time with my wife as possible.

During the semester, I am the first to volunteer for playground duty, on vacation I aim for sans children.

I don't agree with this move, and will use my freedom of speech to let the company know.

It may make no difference to the company's plan, but I have belief in the power of ONE.

Send your demands/requests to the proper personnel and you might have a chance. No one here has the authorization to grant such a request/demand.

Of course, you'd probably have more luck (or sympathy) if there had ever been any of those features in the past.
