TravelLots Posted April 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2017 These darn ships on a stick, whenever I see them it makes me smile and think back to such fun times (no pun intended) with my family. Do you have something from your cruise(s) that makes you smile every time you see it?
BoDidly Posted April 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2017 Sigh :o ! I have a curio cabinet full of those miniature ship models . Three hundred or so hats with the price tag still on that I've never worn from all the islands . I filled a few of those hats up with the ship pins , that I never wear. Out of Iowa Posted April 14, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2017 Ships on sticks....we were pleased to have one from each of our cruises, until a "dry spell" hit us about 2 cruises ago. Medals from trivia were earned this last time - but just not the same as a golden ship.
dcwalker Posted April 14, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 14, 2017 Just coming across a deck plan card in a junk drawer or an old sail and sign card tucked into a pocket in my wallet brings a big beaming smile to my face.

crusinpsychRN Posted April 14, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 14, 2017 Have at least 30 SOAS. Last week I won 2 and gave them to the runner up. A dozen medals too.
bury me at sea Posted April 14, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 14, 2017 For me it's the cute little shot glasses that come with after dinner drinks. Those rare times my daughters are able to visit without their children we set a bottle of Bailey's, a bottle of Godiva, and a pitcher of cream on the table and talk about the cruises we've taken together. Good times.
PhotoMike Posted April 14, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 14, 2017 I was going through boxes & found a 1996 Carnival brochure catalog here recently. Anyone want to cruise on the Tropicale? Festivale? Anyone? Lol!

Hang on to it! I love looking at those old ones! I wish you could still order them from Carnival. I need a new one and feel bad having to go into a TA and lie about how I am thinking about booking a cruise with them just to get a brochure. Out of Iowa Posted April 14, 2017 #15 Share Posted April 14, 2017 A week at today's prices is less than half those old prices shown in the brochure (add 3 days + 4 days)! Even with today's port fees and prepaid gratuities, our most recent booking cost us less than half. I recall a similar comparison with flights to Europe at some times in the past. We bought a bottle of 'Orchata that we discovered after our MDR dinner one night.
